We bought a new roof in 2000 – supposed to last 25 years – paid over $6000 After 13 years, we had a leak (The contractor admitted installing 10 year shingles) Sears offered to give us 46% off a replacement roof The Problem: Even with 50% off, the price would be more than Murray Shaw’s Estimate Why pay $10,000 more, when we should have 12 more years worry free We called to register a complaint – this was back in June 2013 We got the run around Nobody would call us back We called the Direct Corporate Customer Services to get help We have a leak – do a repair – or at least put up a tarp – No tarp – unless we agreed to their inflated price Got Promise after Promise that they would call within 48 hours Nobody called Complained that no one was calling us back – and we had a leak Promised to hear from them within 48 hours Nobody called We called again and again – we were always professional and polite Friendly, sympathetic people took down our information Again and again, promised to have a supervisor call within 48 hours Nobody called If something goes wrong, take it from experience, DO NOT expect Sears to handle it More Likely: Sears will NOT call you back More Likely: you will get nothing but the Royal run around
