I will preface my review by saying that these guys don't speak much English, but their hard work and caring nature more than makes up for the stunted conversations we had (it really wasn't a problem, but I can see it being a potential issue for some people).
My real estate agent had used Heji and liked them so I decided to give them a call for a quotation. While their rates were very competitive, it was the owner's genuine enthusiasm in answering questions and more importantly, asking questions, which made me choose to hire them to help us with the move.
Our move happened on the weekend of a rather epic ice storm (Christmas 2013), but they were on time and took great care in wrapping my furniture up nicely and giving us pointers/tips for any future moves. We were moving from a condo and as soon as the move began, the passenger elevators stopped working so we had to share the freight elevator with the rest of the building, but these guys didn't complain once, even though the move took longer than it was supposed to (obviously). I wish I could say the same for the residents of my ex-building (even though we were kind enough to SHARE the freight elevator with them) but I digress...
They had a bunch of blankets, tape, saran wrap, etc...all ready to go and help us with the move. I had told them they didn't have to wrap things up (I had already wrapped up things I didn't want to get ruined), but they insisted, which was very good of them.
After that CBC Marketplace episode on movers, I was very hesitant to go with a "ma and pa" moving operation (or even the big companies...), but am glad Heji proved me wrong. I would absolutely hire them again.
