I got several quotes to have a double garage built and a fence replaced. The prices were all within the same range so my decision to go with Gecko came down to: 1. Derrick’s friendly personality 2. Derrick’s honesty and breadth of knowledge 3. The inclusion of details that some of the other contractors left out 4. Derrick promised me I would have a garage built by winter. Other contractors weren’t sure about the timing because the concrete companies get so busy towards the end of the season that it is hard to know when anyone would be able to come. Some contractors said I might not be able to have it done until the spring. The concrete part of the job did take the longest but it was for the standard reasons (build, pour, wait, build, pour, wait). Once the concrete was done the garage structure was almost fully built in one day, and then the fence was done the following day. Super fast. The team was very courteous and friendly. My daughter had a tiny tree sapling given to her, which we had planted in the ground in the summer. That little tree went undisturbed through the entire process. There were machines and shovels and work boots in the yard but nothing trampled the tree. (Now we just have to hope it survives the winter.) Excellent, uncompromising, quality work. I recommend Gecko Projects without hesitation.

We moved into a house last year with a very small kitchen island that was not very functional for our needs. We had friends who'd used Action Stone Solutions for a granite bathroom vanity they had replaced. They recommended Action Stone to us so we contacted Troy and he supplied us with a quartz countertop and island. We noticed a crack—or scratch—on the island after it was installed, and Troy came and filled it personally. He told us he would replace the entire piece if he could not repair it to our satisfaction, but we were quite happy with the fix. You cannot tell there was ever any damage, either by sight or feel. Troy has many years of experience working with stone so he knows what he's doing. Our friends had told us that Action Stone's customer service was excellent, and that was definitely our experience as well.

It isn't very often that you do business with someone in the home renos business without feeling ticked off with them for one reason or another at the end of the project. I am very pleased that Lakeview Floors is one of the few I've been satisfied with from start to finish. Mat Thompson was my primary contact. He patiently answered the many questions I sent him by email before the project got started, and was always prompt about it, too. He was friendly and professional throughout. There was an oversight, and Mat addressed it quickly, offering to do the work afterwards as originally discussed, or an alternative which they provided at no charge. That's the hallmark of great customer service: it's not that your business never makes mistakes, but that you address it quickly and professionally and that is exactly what Mat did. We did have a quote from someone else for less money, but the other company was slow about getting it to me, and when I spoke to my contact on the phone he confused me with a different customer and it took a minute or two to get our discussion back on track. I just had a bad feeling it would end up being something we'd be sorry about later, so we did go with Lakeview and are so glad we did. We went away while the work was being done and by that time I'd conversed enough with Mat that I went away with no concerns about something going wrong. I knew our floors were in the hands of professionals and I was comfortable. One more thing: I have mentioned Mat a few times, but other staff members at Lakeview were really great, too. If I called and had a question, whoever answered the phone would address it. Not like with a lot of other businesses where no one wants to deal with you if you've already been talking to someone else. Other people there seemed to be familiar with who we were and what we were having done, and they seemed genuinely happy to help. Doing business with Lakeview was a rare pleasure and I will be recommending them to everyone I know.
