I pay a fee for a seasonal check of both my air conditioning unit and my hot water radiator boiler. The boiler as recently checked and was pronounced in good order. The technician arrived within the arranged time and thoroughly checked the boiler function and then bled the radiators. I am pleased this was a thorough check and I am happy to pay for this service annually.

The sun room in our house had been used as a smallbedroom for my son. When he moved out last October, we decided to redecorate it and turn it into a sitting room. We engaged Finer Edge to do the job since we have used them extensively over the years and know they do a great job. Wallpaper had to be stripped off one wall, some cracks and holes filled, and then the whole room painted. Since there were bookshelves built into the wall and door, this was a very fiddly job. Doug was assigned to do the job. He is a hard worker and is absolutely excellent. He completed the work in a little over three days. Thanks to Finer Edge we are extermely happy with our "new" sun room.

The aluminum siding on our house was fifty years old, and although it was still in reasonable shape, we wanted to change the colour (from white) and add some additional siding in the back. We also wanted to improve the adornment of the fromt windows and change all the eavestroughs. Gary Pulaj contacted us soon after we asked the company to estimate the job. He very thoroughly went through the various options and provided a quote. We had other questions later on and Gary either responded to our e-mails or came back to the house to speak with us. For instance choosing the right colour for the product we wanted took some additional time but Gary was always available to help us out. This turned out to be a special order which took extra weeks to obtain. Robert and Richard were the installers and it was estimated that it could take four days to complete the job. As it turned out, the job extended almost two weeks because of rain/wind delays and some challenges given the roof profile. Robert advised us that he did not want to rush the job so it could be done properly. We would give him a big thumbs up for his knowledge and experience. Both of the men were open to our suggestions on a couple of issues and Richard fashioned a bottom piece for under the front windows which nicely completed the framing. Trevor (I think) arrived to do the eavestrough once all the siding was completed and did a great job. One problem arose with the siding attached to the side of the back porch. A number of screws protruded through to the inside. Once this was pointed out, someone came by and trimmed the protruding screws and then covered this whole area with a different siding material. We were more than happy with this particular effect. Overall the job was done carefully and thoroughly and the communication with Gary was excellent. We are very pleased with the result.

We decided to replace the six windows in our back sunroom. These were long casement windows that were probably eighty years old. Phil came by within a week of our call to find out what we wanted and to price the job. We decided on a retrofit and Phil recommended the appropriate windows. He was honest and didn't t try to oversell the many products available. As a matter of fact he indicated they would provide triple pane for the price of double pane. A few weeks later a senior installer came by to review the job and record what had to be done. Two full days were planned for the job. On the day of the istallation, Murat Arslan arrived with a helper, a little later than expected due to traffic issues, and but they got right to work. They worked extremely hard and decided to continue into the evening in the hope of finishing the job in one day. Because it had gotten too dark to finish, they had to return the following day for a couple of hours to complete some outside work. Murat did a great job and both the inside and the outside of the house was fully cleaned up before they left. There was great communication with the company from start to finish and we were very pleased with the result. Actually we were amazed how quiet the sunroom now is with those triple pane windows!

We decided to replace the siding and eavestroughs on our house. However because we had ivy covering one wall, and this generally grows up over the eavestrough and siding, we came to the conclusion that it should all be removed. I contacted Tip Top Eaves on a Thursday since they advertised ivy removal. Yaron contacted me immediately and arranged to come by the very next day. He quoted the job and stated he could have the removal started two days later. Although he estimated it could take up to three days, Jay arrived early and started into it. By 6:00 pm the work was done. Most of the vine was bagged, but the heavier pieces were tied into bundles. The brick was scraped to remove as much of the "ivy fingers" and the site cleaned up. We discussed with Jay about keeping some of the ivy at the back, so he trimmed it down to a reasonable level based on our input. We were very pleased with the quick response, and the good work that was accomplished faster than estimated.

I contacted three companies for a quote but only Rileys responded. Mark gave me a date he could come by to provide a quote and he did. A couple of days later I contacted him to proceed with the removal and he estimated it could be done in a week. Later that day he called to say he could do it the very next day as he was concerned given the condition of the tree. With a two man crew they arrived and got right ot work. The tree was fully down in about an hour and a half. All the wood was removed and the site cleaned up satisfactorily. This was a quick expert job and I was fortunate that Mark took the time to quote the job and did it earlier than expected.

We contacted this company through Homestars as we needed to replace all our carpets on the second floor of our home due to age. Mark contacted us promptly and we arranged for him to come by. He thoroughly explained the carpeting choices, provided samples and we chose the colour and confirmed what we wanted done. He provided two estimates based on different quality of carpet. After choosing the estimate we wanted, we changed our mind about the colour and Mark obligingly came by a second time. We did change the colour, and then decided on the date for the work to be done. We arranged for two days but the technicians completed the job in one day by working a little later. The job was done quickly, efficiently and professionally. We had a couple of questions a couple of days after the job had been completed. Mark sent the same technicians back to ensure our questions were answered and some minor adjustments were made. Overall we were completely satisfied with the work and give Mark a top rating for his timely communication and thorough knowledge of the products he installs.

We have used Finer Edge a number of times and have found them to be very professional and thorough. We wanted a bedroom repainted but the plaster on one wall had pulled away from the lath. They had a look at the room and stated that they could replace the entire damaged wall and then prep and paint the room. Antonio and Doug came to do the job. The project was very well done and was completed in slightly under the time that had been estimated. It looks really great! Another quality job.

I contacted Pambis by e-mail in the morning after our washer started making some noises and a "hot" smell was noticed. Peter got back to us within three hours and indicated he could drop by in the next thirty minutes. He arrived when he said he would and advised us of the rates before he did any work. He then checked out our machine and indicated we needed a new belt but everything else looked okay. He installed the new belt and ran the washerto make sure it was properly working. He charged for the service call and the new belt but waived the labour charge. We were very pleased with the service since the problem was handled very quickly and efficiently. Also Peter is very pleasant to deal with. I would certainly recommend Pambis to anyone.

We decided to remove and not replace broadloom that had covered the original hardwood floor for about forty years. Not knowing the condition of the floor we engaged Ecowoods to do the refinish job. Much of the hardwood on the main floor was installed when the house was built in 1918. Francisco had a look and agreed to tackle the job. He left stain chips with us so we could choose the colour. He then followed up and asked that we pick three stain colours. Some days later he dropped off a piece of hardwood with the three stains we had picked on it so we could more accurately decide on a final colour. This was a very nice approach and we appreciated seeing the stains on a larger piece of wood all together. On the day of the job Franciso and his crew arrived ontime and got right to work. Plastic sheets were put up to help limit wood dust migration from the sanding. By the end of the third day the job was done.....earlier than estimated. In order to reduce the overall time for the job, Franciso would put a sealer coat on the floor in the morning and would later return in the evening to apply another coat. Despite the fact some of the hardwood had deteriorated, and screws had been used to fasten some of it down, Franciso filled in the holes as best he could. The overall job looks really good thanks to the expertise of Ecowoods. We would certainly recommend Ecowoods for anyone considering a refinishing job.

We engaged Rent-a-Son to move the furniture out of our living and dining rooms in preparation for a floor refinishing job. The job involved moving the furniture into storage pods which were transported to a storage site. The move co-ordinator was in constant contact with us to help with arranging moving supplies and special packaging requirements. On moving day, the crew arrived promptly, got to work and did the whole job in about one and half hours! They were efficient, very friendy and knew what they were doing. We had ordered three bins to ensure that we had enough capacity but the crew expertly packed the furniture so that only two bins were required. This turned out to be a great move. We had no hesitation in rebooking the "move-in" with Rent-a-Son ten days later.

I had three items of furniture that required some repair/restoration. After describing them to Jeff, he provided an estimate and I brought them in. One was a drawer from a dresser (ca 1870) that required a new wood knob. Jeff did a marvelous job turning up a new one on the lathe even though he could not remove the existing one to do an exact match. One other piece was a small sideboard that had a partially split top. After suggesting that they would simply split it all the way and then repair it, they turned out replacing it completely. The match with the rest of the sideboard was amazing. They also replaced an interior shelf that was quite flimsy. The final piece was a marble plant stand that was completely restored. All in all the work was indicative of expert craftmanship and was of excellent quality. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks Jeff!

We have used Finer Edge before and were always happy with their work. So prior to listing my late mother's condo for sale, I asked them to have a look and see what they thought could be done. The condo had not been painted in many years and I felt it should be freshened up. The decision was to strip the wallpaper off both bathrooms, as well as wallpaper borders in the kitchen and both bedrooms. Then all the rooms would receive a new coat of paint on the walls. The estimated work duration was four days as this was a reasonably large condo and there was a lot of wallpaper stripping to be done. The guys started when they said they would and actually completed the work in only three days. The job was done extremely efficiently with vents being removed to properly paint the walls and all holes being patched. It is amazing how the place looks now thanks to Finer Edge.

The estimate was provided in a timely manner and the work commenced within days. The services of a Project Coordinator, Colin, to assist with colour choices was a definite asset. The painting team, Doug and Zoran, was very prompt, extremely professional, and did exquisite work. They worked practically non-stop in order to complete the job in the most reasonable amount of time. And Vince, the Project Manager, oversaw all aspects of the work to ensure we were satisfied. And indeed we were! We already have them lined up for further work. An excellent job and a great team!

We needed to replace our front porch, which is roughly 8 X 8 foot. Rob came by to have a look and provided an estimate the next week. He was quite helpful with suggestions and designed the porch to suit our needs. After we signed the contract, he advised us that he could start the job sooner than expected so he arrived when he said he would and finished the job on time. After completing the tear-down he advised us he could retain the framing which would save us some money and offered to add a second railing for the stairs based on the price quoted for only one. The quality of the work was excellent and Rob dropped by weeks later to make sure everything was okay. He recommended a stain to use on the wood and offered to drop off a colour chart and brochure on this product. Overall we were very pleased with the work Rob did and will definitely use him again for other projects.

Armando and his crew did an excellent job when they repaired and replaced our sewage drain. Actually when the back-up occurred Sunday June 3, Matthew was there within the hour and opened up the drain sufficiently to release the backed-up sewage from the basement. Even though the damage was done, it was gratifying that the length of time we were in that state was minimized by their quick action. The subsequent repair was done in a most professional manner and we were apprised all the way along as to what the problem(s)was and the required fix. At no time did I feel pressured or misled on any aspect of the job which is really important because it does build trust. The clean-up and final inspection were exemplary. In fact the company that has been doing the interior clean-up for us remarked on the great job that was done and asked what firm had done the work. I was more than happy to make this referral and I was told they will definitely consider using DrainWorks in the future. Again many thanks for a job well done!
