I had a Danish teak desk that had been in the family since the 1960's that needed to be refinished. The work that Jeff did was top notch. There were a few bumps along the way due to the age and condition of the teak veneer. But Jeff really (and I mean really) went out of his way to come up with solutions to the problem. He was open and honest and kept me informed of the progress. In the end, the work that Jeff and his team did was nothing short of incredible. I don't think the desk looked this good when it was brand new! I would not hesitate to recommend Wood Specialties and I would definitely go back with any other refinishing work I needed.

Jeff refinished my mother's antique dining room table. It had previously been restored improperly by another company and was in poor shape. Jeff did a meticulous job! The table looks amazing - like new. Jeff was also incredibly easy to deal with. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this company.

Jeff did a wonderful job repairing two very old chairs and my grandmother's piano bench. All were broken and now, as Jeff put it "even an elephant could sit on the piano bench." Had three pieces of mid-century veneer furniture restored. They partially sprayed one piece white too. They look great! And Jeff is a very knowledgeable, nice guy. Thanks Jeff! I’ll be back with my dining room set.

I was very impressed by Jeff’s knowledge and craftsmanship. I originally had hoped for a different finish, but was advised that the look I wanted to achieve was not possible with the type of wood used in the dresser. Although first disappointed, I was happy to follow Jeff’s lead as he showed me the alternatives and worked with me to get to a place I was happy with. To be honest, I think I’m happier with the way it turned out than with the original vision I had. A nice twist!

After an antique wooden desk chair was damaged during a move, I wondered whether it could be repaired (it's certainly irreplaceable). I had *no* idea there were so many furniture repair options available in the GTA and wasn't quite sure where to start... but after some searching I saw that Wood Specialties had SO many good reviews (more than ANY other company!) and decided to take the chance and reached out to Jeff.
Well, I have to say, I am THRILLED with the repair and am so happy to have my chair back! But not only that, the level of professionalism, attention to detail, prompt and clear responses to my questions, and even patience while I sorted out transportation... working with Jeff has been a fabulous experience and although I wouldn't want to need his services again anytime soon, I would 100% without question work with him again. My solid wood dining table needed complete refinishing and repair due to many years of damage. After much searching, something about Jeff’s demeanour, thoughtful questions and explanations made me trust him especially compared to the ludicrously expensive and high pressure in-home tactics used by the major competitor. His price was reasonable based on many estimates (not the highest or lowest) and the timeline was more suitable. He was always professional, responsive and accomodating of collaboration to ensure complete satisfaction. The end product is truly gorgeous and perfect. My entire family feels that it looks even better than when we got it new! I would totally do all my wood refinishing jobs with Jeff. He and his crew are top notch.
