Whole house painting, interior
I picked Pedigree because of the reviews, and that they were dog people. Their quoting was extremely professional and set out exactly what was to be done. It even talked about what was to be done at the beginning and what was to be done at the end. The only special request I had was to paint the closets first so that I can start to move in. The rest of the painting was to have been coordinated with the renovation contractor. All started out pretty good. Stuart was amazing He was very fast at responding to any problems or any questions. When it came to do the end, this is where the problem started. It seems that they felt I was asking 2 much when I was talking about some of the touch ups, they said they were caused by the contractor. They said it was don't unfair that they would have to fix these. They blamed some of the problems on the contractor because they weren't doing it the way they normally do it. The contractor had his timelines, and obviously they didn't agree with Pedigree's timeline. Initially, I thought the work was very well done. However, now, that is over and we have parted ways. I see a lot of areas that were missed carelessly. Paint dripped carelessly on floors and items, like shower pipes. Some hardware was taken off. Some was left on the wall and paint it around instead of painted under. I asked several times for a particular area to be painted behind the vanity. In the bathroom because the new vanity would be showing some in that area. That seemed to go astray, because nobody paid attention until the very last minute, when we had to take the new vanity off the wall so that they could paint behind it. On the positive side there was damage done to some of the blinds, and they did rectify that eventually. I was told in the end to keep the ten percent that I held back and they would class the job as finished and would not come back for any more touch-ups or any more problems. It's a shame that this happened and it could have been averted all it would have taken was better communication and understanding of how the customer feels. I really wish things had ended differently.

Hi Dodi,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’d like to take a moment to clarify some points:
Initial Work:
We came as requested during our first visit and painted the closets.Coordination with Contractors:
While we discussed scheduling with your contractor, there were factors outside of his control, as you were working with multiple contractors in different sections of your house.Completion and Deficiencies:
We completed the project and outlined a few minor deficiencies in our sign-off form, for which you gave us a rating of 9/10. Unfortunately, we couldn’t address all deficiencies at that time, as a frame and some drywall work by your contractor were still incomplete. At this stage, our project manager advised you to inform the trade workers that the painting was complete and to be careful with the walls to avoid damage.Follow-up on December 4th:
When we returned on December 4th to address the deficiencies, we noticed the previously painted walls were dusty and dirty. Additionally, some of the trade workers did not take care of the completed painting, causing further damage. Despite this, we performed another walkthrough and fixed the issues without complaint. For example, we repaired 5–8 holes made by the TV installer at no extra charge. We only asked that care be taken moving forward to prevent further damage, especially with the cabinet installation to be completed.Blinds Issue:
Our project manager explained that once everything was finalized and a walkthrough was completed with our supervisor, we would prefer if you could provide the remaining balance of $700 that day, to avoid requiring another visit just to pick up a cheque. At this point, you raised concerns about the blinds being damaged. However, as stated in the contract, we recommend that the customer remove blinds or other furniture, and while we are willing to do so, we are not responsible for any damages caused. You had asked our painters to remove the blinds, later expressing that cleaning them would be too expensive. You even asked us to dispose of them for you.Final Walkthrough:
Our supervisor completed all deficiencies on December 4th and conducted a final walkthrough with you, during which you again gave us a rating of 9/10.After discussing the situation with our team and realizing we couldn’t find a resolution, we contacted you and agreed that you could retain the remaining balance as a resolution.
We greatly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our systems and processes to provide better service in the future. The Pedigree Team
