Heating & Air Conditioning installation
In August of 2016, I had B&B Climate Control install a New Heating and Air Conditioning system, in my rodent breeding facility. I found their installation to be very sloppy. I also find their communication with their customers to be very very terrible! I have never ever doubt with a company that I have constantly and constantly had to chase down, by either emailing or phoning to find out what is going on or when certain issues are to be taken care of. I asked Chad 3 times for a price on a case of filters for the system. Never received a price like I asked for. All of a sudden, a case of filters shows up on my table, along with an invoice, when they came back one of many times to re-do electrical that was installed very unprofessionally. I could have refused to take the filters and not pay the invoice but I didn't. There are still issues with the installation of the electrical, as it still looks awful and parts are hanging a foot or so away from the wall, electrical is not properly clipped etc. Insulation that was installed back in September over some of the ducting is now more than 1/3 falling off. A tech took pics of it, and sent those pics to the office manager, which contacted me by email over 2 weeks ago to find out my issues, that I had with it, and the ducting that was attached to my HRV. I email him back immediately, and still haven't received a response to my reply, in over 2 weeks. I also complained about having to fight getting the air filter out, because it was catching on screws inside the fresh air duct. I finally got fed up with fighting with the filters, and took the screen off myself, and bent the screws down myself, with a pair of plyers. This is something I shouldn't have had to do! When the tech cam here to find out why the furnace wouldn't stay running when I fired it up the first time. He said it was the pressure switch. He said he would be back the next day with as new one. Over a week went by no word, again I had to phone on a Wednesday to find out what was going on. Chad the office manager, said they had to order it, and it would be in Thursday afternoon, of that week and they would install it Friday afternoon! Thursday at around 1pm the tech shows up at my door to install the new switch. No phone call ahead of time, or even an email to warn me the tech was on the way to my place. Sloppy Installation: Not only was there electrical issues, but the installation of the ductwork was sloppy, even when anchoring it to the ceiling, Adam kept making holes in my ceiling as he kept having problems hanging the ductwork. This was a 2 man job, left to one man. Not only do I have holes all over my ceiling, I also have duct sealent all over it in spots. When painting the duct sealent on, Adam couldn't use a piece of cardboard to prevent him from getting it on the ceiling? When drilling holes from the outside in, they kept popping out the drywall. And instead of neatly cutting the popped drywall with a knife, they just tore the pieces off, tearing the paper off along with the paint. Now around each hole looks terrible., and really has to be re-plastered and painted, which I don't have the time to do. I spent $37,000.00 to totally renovate this building, to only have it ruined by this totally unprofessional installation I am very upset with this company, and would never use them again, for new HVAC systems or installation! I will only call them for warranty issues the this system I bought from them back in August. I would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone for any HVAC installation. This is past the middle of November, 3 months after installation, and I'm still left with over a 1/3rd of the duct insulation just hanging, issues with the intake ducting to the HRV, sloppy electrical. That did Not pass an electrical safety inspection, by the electrical safety commission of Ontario. The only thing I was happy with is, the financing company they use. which is very affordable!
