We ordered duct cleaning through Steam Dry Canada, which was a very unfortunate mistake. Steam Dry's employee showed up and after looking inside the furnace for a few seconds, immediately informed us that we needed to have the furnace cleaned in addition to the ducts. He wouldn't clean the ducts unless we paid an extra $160 to clean the furnace. This furnace is 4-5 years old and has an upgraded filtration system. Since we didn't think we had a choice, we agreed and at least we hoped the service would be performed well. Steam Dry's one employee was able to perform the duct cleaning on 18 registers AND clean the inside of the furnace, which we apparently needed, all in 30 minutes. Basically we were charged for nothing. We called their customer service and after being passed to a manager, we were told he would try to "knock" $80 off the price. He didn't seem to care that the whole job was done in 30 minutes, which is impossible. This is the kind of story you see on the news. I wouldn't expect it from a company like this.

Good morning, we are sorry to hear about your experience. After reviewing the work order, you were not charged $160 to clean the furnace. There was a charge for $40 to clean the ac coil, $40 to clean the blower fan and $80 to sanitize the duct system. These are all charges that could have been declined. They are clearly stated on the invoice which was signed. If there was an issue with the services provided, this could have been addressed at the time of payment and before the invoice was signed. These services were clearly communicated and agreed upon before being performed.
We would be more then happy to have another technician come out to your home and go over the work performed if you do not feel it was adequate. Our manager John Della Mora has also communicated this to your wife but she stated that she wanted you present and would get back to us. We understand that you would be quite busy seeing that your wife is pregnant and our offer still stands.

Recently noticed some new bugs in my house so I contacted Joe through HomeStars. Joe responded very promptly and was very honest. By looking at the picture I sent him he said that the bug was not harmful in any way and that the issue would resolve itself (sometimes these bugs just winter in the house and come out in the spring). He explained how to prevent this from happening next year and didn't charge me anything. Another company I contacted on HomeStars (which was highly rated as well), said it was a different type of insect (wrong) an wanted to charge me for an extermination that I did not need. Thanks again Joe.

Thanks for your review.I know this bug well and have come across this insect many times over the course of my career. Sometimes it is just best to let nature take its course. This pest should be dealt with in the fall months when the congregate on walls and look to overwinter in wall voids.
