We hired Skyline Roofing in the Spring of 2023 to complete the replacement of our family cottage's roof, as well as completing an animal abatement and total clean up, which would cost us an additional $7000 on top of the main roof replacement cost. While the new roof was ultimately completed by the end of the Summer, the abatement, which was supposed to include a complete disinfection of the affected areas within the dwelling, as well as the removal and complete disposal of all ruined furniture and items within the dwelling, was never completed as promised. Minor clean-up was completed inside but most of the destroyed/soiled furniture and items were left inside of the place with incomplete being completed. On top of this, the eave troughs were left in a horrible state, filled with debris from the roof replacement, which should have been cleaned out after the roof work was completed. Due to the clogged eaves troughs, a lot of water was pouring down from the roof directly, causing a lot of erosion around the foundation. After repeated texts/calls to Matteo in the late Summer/early Fall inquiring about the timeline of completion of this outstanding work, we were finally able to schedule a time to meet him and his team up at the cottage to express our concerns and highlight what still needed to be completed. We had also not met him or his team to give the final sign-off for the roof completion. On this scheduled date, Matteo and team didn't end up showing up and numerous texts and calls were not met with an answer. We later received an apology from Matteo saying that he and his team were too tied up with other things to make it that day and we worked with him afterwards to schedule another date to meet him and possibly his team up there, which he promised to make sure to attend. We had agreed to meet at 9am on this new agreed date in the early Fall but he and his team also ultimately ended up no-showing AGAIN, with no responses to texts/calls afterwards. We decided that we had to take on the task of moving all of the soiled/ruined furniture and items outside of the cottage ourselves as to not waste another day up there (not a fun task without the proper equipment/measures in place), so that everything was in one simple large pile to be picked up, hoping that this would be the minimum they could still do for us. This was of course very frustrating and extremely unprofessional as we had put aside two separate full days of our time to help highlight these incomplete issues, as well as the fact that we had already paid for these services in full ($7000!). Since this second no-show incident, nothing has been done to rectify the situation in the last few months. At this point, we don't believe the outstanding work will ever be completed, nor will we be able to have the opportunity to properly go over and sign-off on the roof work that was done, including confirming warranty information (there is no way to confirm that the roof was really completed in entirety). We feel really let down by Skyline Roofing, Matteo and his brother Daniel, especially since we trusted them implicitly, and definitely don't recommend their services.
