I wanted some hearty plants for containers for my balcony. Humber Nurseries has such a selection that you can't go wrong. The variety of annuals and perennials is amazing. The staff are really knowledgeable. Lots of good ideas. I found some interesting plants that I wouldn't have found elsewhere. My balcony looked great.
This is a great place to get ideas and samples. When I was redoing the backsplash for my kitchen I went to Olympic and browsed through walls of samples. Then when I narrowed it down, I was able to get a few sample tiles to take home for a very small deposit. When I returned the samples I got my deposit back and was able to order what I needed and take it with me. Having the samples at home really made the difference.
When I had to downsize for my Dad, this place really helped. They put the items on display and took care of all the details. They keep a small percentage but for the hassel free service its worthit. Also, while there there are lots of other things that might for of interest.
Keith really helped out. I came in with 3 old sofa cushions and while I waited the foam was replaced. He even did some minor repairs to the seams. The cushions are comfortable like new.
I needed custome vertical blinds for my balcony door in my Condo. Mayfair came and did the measurements and brought lots of samples so I could match the paint and other items in the room. When they were made, the installer came and it was a breeze. I have even had to followup to get a few accessories and they were very helpful.
Seniors need all the help they can get. When going from a house or condo to a retirement or nursing home, Vicky's crew does it all with ease and professionalism.
I planned to completly gut my kitchen. Ikea's computer program was of great assistance. It let me figure out what would fit where, select the counters and cabinets and even the accessories like drawer handles and appliances. The staff were very helpful. The stress was kept to a minimum. They even recommended a contractor. I love my kitchen.
I needed all new kitchen appliances: fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave/hood. After checking out a number of competitors Leon's was where I purchased from. The sales rep was extremely knowledgeable and did not pressure me at all.
Throughout the design process everything was going well. I wanted to get everything from them: cabinets, sink, faucet, counter top, handles, contractor. When the cabinets arrived there was no sink or faucet. When I went in he said it was not in the contract. So I had to order it right then. This was a big miscommunication. I assumed it was included and he assumed/forget to verify. All said and done, it looks great.
The sales rep seemed to know what he was talking about: installer arrived and could not proceed, sales manager arrived to brainstorm. Cable TV line could not be put under the laminate, ceramic to be removed underestimated. Ended up with cork subfloor where carpet was so laminate & cork level, front entrance ceramics removed and laminate installed. Room transitions bars had to be replaced as they were lifting. Got a credit for the cost to remove ceramic and no charge for the cork which is much better than laminate & underlay only on top of cement. Took 3 day instead of 1. Carpet pushed a few days and that went without a snag.
This place has amazing choice. Plants, annuals and perineals, trees, garden furniture, fish, ponds and even a butterfly area. It is overwhelming and the staff are real experts. I have been going here for years to find new and familar plants.
Moving a Senior to Retirement Home
If you want to eliminate the stress of it all, Vicky and her company will do it all with professionalism and care. She came with measuring tape and note book on the first visit to help with my Dad's move from a Condo to a Retirement home. They book the movers, they come in and pack, they help decide what to take from furniture to towels to kitchen utensils and pictures, they take all the measurements and go to the new place and tape off what will go where, they arrange to move other items to my place, they get rid of unwanted items either by donation or to the garbage, they help with contents sales, etc. At the end of the day of the move the bed is made, the kitchen is set up, furniture and tv is all ready and the pictures are hung. We even recommended them to friends who moved from a house they had been in over 35 years to a condo and they were thrilled. Costs vary depending on the size of the job but you aren't exhausted from lugging boxes and stressing over what is going on.
