We had an absolutely amazing experience with Sandgate. We knew right out of the gate we wanted to work with Joe and his team from the day we met him. This was our first home renovation ever and we were very nervous but Joe was communicative every step of the planning process and his contractors, Matt and Mike, were efficient and able to answer any questions we had throughout. Our renovation turned out better than we could have imagined and - bonus points - our three large, friendly dogs could not have been happier to see their new friends every day. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about doing a home renovation but especially pet parents if you want a company that will not only respect your animals but happily interact with them while they are in your home. We will be using Sandgate for any and all home renovation projects in our future and so should you!

My husband and I hired The Deck Guys to tear down our existing deck and build a new one with the addition of stairs leading into our back yard. All in all, it was a good experience. Pros: everyone from our initial point of contact through the end of construction was nice and professional; our deck turned out absolutely beautiful, with our neighbours on both sides asking the contractors about it while they were building; the total length of time to dismantle and construct was about 6 working days, which seems fairly average; and they were all very gracious and accommodating with our three big friendly dogs. Cons: the only negative thing I have to say about the company is that their communication skills are a bit lacking. You definitely have to stay on top of it and initiate contact and press them for a start date/updates etc but as long as you are okay with that, I'd say there are no other issues. In each instance where I initiated a question or concern (such as following up on our permit, start date etc) they were generally quick to respond and quick to follow through. Would recommend them as long as you are okay with following up with them as opposed to waiting for them to update you. In the end, all that matters is the job though and our new deck is gorgeous and sturdy.
