We had written a whole story about all that went on during our FOUR-month en-suite and closet renovation, but it would be a very big read…Coles notes version: 1. Absolutely no schedule and no intentions to keep you in the loop. I literally had to stay home as much as possible IN CASE they may show up today… Communication was just not there except, when money was needed. 2. We were not priority at all, sometimes waiting days to get anything done, and when showing up, some of the SUBCONTRACTORS would work 10am – 2pm basically 3. Yes, I said SUBCONTRACTORS, as most of the work was done Jamie (great guy and consistent worker), ALs’ brother, or by AL’s’ nephew (young guy running a tile company) who has a great deal to learn about business, but it should not be at the expense of clients. Awful experiences from ruined finishes from rush installs that no attempts to clear up would fix (we were told that it was not ALs problem, it was the subcontractors who I repeatedly said I did not want back) to improper installations to installing damaged products to no English-speaking staff except the owner!! 4. They were always so polite and friendly and let you ramble your concerns but did nothing about them: 1. Why did we paint the shower ceiling with flat paint? Heard but ignored 2. Will that chip in the glass be a weakness later? Heard but ignored 3. Do we have a warranty on the glass with Keval or the glass company? And Who are they? Heard but ignored 4. Can we now get the “silent” bathroom fan replaced as promised, since it is no where near silent? Heard but ignored. 5. Can I get prices on the extras? Every time we did something (not often) no pricing, and no summary as I asked. Heard but ignored. They allowed so much to happen with the tile company that it discouraged them, and they were walking off the job in in October because they would not be able to make us happy. By then it is two months doing a simple bathroom update (my plumber and my electrician) where they just had to close a door, open a new one, remove old shower wall to allow glass wall only and remove one wall in the adjoining room for a walk-in closet room. Pretty simple. I purchased all fixtures, doors (clearly never installed barn doors before! We now lock our bedroom door to take a shower!!), tiles, etc. They really were just installing. How this all went so badly is beyond us, but it is more than apparent now since I did not do my checks in the beginning, that using a referred company is not always good. I have found no website, no social media, Contract is very vague and has NO address or emails, just Keval Contracting and ALs cell number. For a company to have zero web presence currently, it says a great deal about them, and I can say honestly, were they not referred, I would have never taken a second look. We are now in March. February AL was to call me back about the outstanding issues…never did. Surprise, surprise. I am pretty fed up by now, as I listen to my plane in the bathroom take off and land every day, watch the caulking already away from the walls, the ceiling starts to stain from flat paint in the high moisture shower... We never felt like they wanted the job as both them and the tile company bragged of their bigger jobs, so we were just a filler. Believe me, it was more than apparent. Photos: 1. Hidden drain multiple installs attempted. 2. Stones are covered in glazing but patchy, and mortar on the facing that Kevan said would be easy to remove...easy because it was not him. 3. shower drain 4. Shower floor discolored and after install corrected to remove straight lines from sheets laid with joints matching 5. Drain finally corrected 6. Never did see them fix this but the opposite wall was bowed and they didn't try correcting it with shims before installing drywall so the mirror is off the wall a bit. 7. Carpet stained in many places...never cleaned by them as they never returned to finish after Christmas. Shampoo three times to get most out 8. White wall tile installed sitting up in the corner just enough to be an eyesore...had to keep complaining to get that one fixed...should never have been installed that way 9. Was another attempt at the drain install that saw them fill too high with mortar and leaving loose stones when they were done gouging out the mortar...oh boy. 10. The marble ledge was installed as i stood there and he actually taped it with blue tape to hold the seams. I had it removed immediately before setting as it was chipped at the bottom noticeable as you walk in the door. So many more issues i could show. Do your homework.

We purchased the system last March and the sales man was real nice and knowledgeable up front but very pushy for the money and signed documents which turned me off of him for sure. The Drilling company was a great bunch of guys and the staff installing was mostly owners sons but all were very polite and helpful even to this day. They made the experience and continue to make us happy in their on going efforts to make a system work for our needs. We have had issues with the system due to pipes used exploding and another leaking and we certainly commend the owners sons Logan and his brother for their professionalism and assistance every time we get them to come out however, there is the feeling that we are bothering them and the dislike that this is costing them money in repair is certainly apparant in some comments made. The company does have a few things about them that I dislike of which one would be there is no emergency services or a line to reach anyone after hours so the exploding pipes better contain themselves to regular working hours but generally as I am told they do not happen so i cross my fingers but am stressed because the system has already popped lines now twice that "everyone elses homes have, can't understand why ours is popping" While we feel for their loss financially we also feel the lack of concern is there for our losses in time and fear of property damage were we not here the next time. When it is working the system is heating our home nicely and the pool as well as the domestic hot water are also being heated with issues mainly in the pool heating. We think that even though the system was purchased with the intent to heat the pool...it is probably a bit more than it can do so we are going to have to lose the pool in the winter despite our efforts to keep it and the money spent...maybe just a month or so wont be so bad but was not what we were hoping for in the system for sure. On the upside...the crew are always happy to help and very knowledgeable, we have just overused our warranty in one year I guess. Most recently: Furnace popped pipe again on Saturday 21...had to convert all to copper this time...told that pool leaking was a simple fix not related to the furnace (we intended to pay extra for) so they were to fix it too...fixed but it still leaks...have not heard of them since...pool still not running all week.

We moved into our older home almost two years ago and called The "duke" never worked right even after the visit so we held off but called them in for service of the reverse ossmosis a few weeks ago and asked them to look at the other equipment quickly because we have no water in the house...The tech should we call him that for lack of a better word, again could not repair it because of lack of experience (same guy despite my request to have it looked at by someone with experience) and oh yes, same two weeks to wait on the boss who was so busy with his Richmond Hill clientelle that I should feel lucky he would grace my presence...I wound up cancelling the appointment because I called in a simple water company for a quote and found that one of the problems with the Duke was the holding tank bringing water to the DUKE was no longer able to hold water enough so it was constantly on and off to supply the water...secondly we found that the pump installed to feed chloring to the DUKE was a 125v pump trying to work on 115v of power. Not only did the company accuse us of tampering with their equipment set up and hosing (which my husband and I would not have the first clue how to do!!) but they also then charged me for parts that looked to be old all covered in white residue that was used as replacements for parts in my system replaced before consulting with me and now they want paid for them. Luckily I cough them before they replaced my ossmosis filter with an old one the mice had been around!!! T. Gould, Clarington

We lost our furnace/airconditioning in the hotest part of August and started looking for Geothermal contractor immediately. We did not install the original unit so we had to educate ourselves first. I called three companies at first and was appauled at the response times, and the variations in quotes. Once i had two that seemed reasonable and an opinion of one not quoting due to distance, we proceeded to ask more questions and enquire about wsib and insurance as well as credentials on the retrofit unit. Jeff Salazar came out and checked out the space, measured for fit, checked available electricity, and unit size, among other things required. I asked if the water tanks could be hooked up to utilize the then waste of a good system and he assured me they would be. Other companies told me they could not and had to be replaced, they also cared less about the system the were replacing. Jeff and his staff came in and did as they said they would professionally and punctually. He advised me on the rebate programe and assisted with the paperwork required. so far there is nothing bad i could say about the work as he was the most educated, forthccoming, and helpful of them all. WSIB AND INSURANCE requests scared most off. Great job and thanks.

contracted under strict untrusting stipulations that all was paid first. To be no wains no stains and great quality. Our floors were done by one man alone for four days cutting all inside to speed for him(I am pregnant!!!) and all baseboards and newly painted surfaces have damages from his install procedures (custom estate needing milled woodwork) There were boards installed despite having huge marks, splits, ad chips all to save for them but extremely noticeable since the marker he gave me does not hide the chunks missing. The transitions installed leaving over an inch gap at a wall that does not receive shoe mold and the door does not close any longer without scraping as the stair nosing is higher than the floor...the kicker to all is that this was well over one week ago and nobody has even cared to ask if we were happy. Took the money and ran!!!!!!!!!!! shame on them. a pathetic busimess practices. Any good from the job certainly has been drained through all the bad.

We hired them on referral of a client of our own and found the service and product to be great. I love the new look and the installers were very quiet, clean, and professional. A huge thanks to Peter and Steve for displacing my fears of finding another good company out there. Cheers!

Hired April 2007 and paid in full for a new roof to repair leaking on newly purchased older home. Water coming in windows, down walls, through ceilings and we assured that increasing the water sheild and replacing roof, and enlarging downspouts etc. would solve so we did all. The winter and freezing proved Darren(owner)wrong and even the staff(Darren never attended) sent to shovel off our roof said it needed to be fixed. I have since taken this up with consumer affairs for our Consumer protection act rights to be enforced...failing this i have to re-pair and seek legal action. NOVEMBER 17th 2008 we had a leak in another area on Saturday and emailed them and today they actually showed up to fix this today and the gentleman was pleasant and truly hoped to satisfy me and resolve the problem. We are hopeful that it as well as the other is resolved at this point but if not we are hopeful that their approach to service has changed...time will tell but i thought you should know. March 16, 2009: This company has since made good on warranty issues this winter...i have adjusted the rating in appreciation for the fact and like to say thanks for them doing it.
