Pros: -The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The selection for baseboards and casements were great. -They offer delivery for a fee and even their delivery guys were nice! -there prices are comparable -there hours are good so you can actually zip in after work Cons: -They don't have many doors that you can see close up or feel (yes I like feeling the weight of a door) -When ordering custom sized doors measure multiple times and don't assume your doors are the same size... One of my doors needed to be a inch narrower and since it was already custom cut for it to be fixed the quoted almost the same price as buying a brand new door.

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Decide on what you like at another store and then order through Windsor. For example There mantels they sell are by picking them out of a pamphlet (unless you have it created by building up crown molding )

Location is easy to get to and has parking which was great. They shut fairly early though so check before you leave. Sales associate was okay. I was looking for custom sized doors. They have a great selection and an easy order process but I found their prices were more expensive than other stores.

I called MJM because I knew they carried a line from a manufacture I liked. I spoke to someone on the phone and while he said they didn't have the exact one I was looking at they had the "newer" model of it. He said they had it in stock so it would be a very good price. I asked to get more details and he told me to come in. I couldn't understand him very clearly on the phone so I figure it was the only way to see. I got there and the sales associate I spoke to on the phone actually approached me and brought me to the set he was referring to. There were noticeable differences between what I was looking for and that set but it was certainly from the same line. I asked how much it would be for the whole set. He totalled it up and then said since they had some in stock he could get me a deal. I knocked a few hundred dollars off (but when they charge $125 for delivery it wasn't noticeable). I said that I could get it way cheaper in the states and it would be worth it for me just to drive to the states, stay over a few days and then drive the set up in a rental truck for how much the difference between the Canadian and USA cost was (over $1000 difference). He then said I would have to speak to his manager. His manager worked out a price (another couple hundred off). You could tell this whole thing was common practice. I said it was still oevr what I wanted to spend. The manager walked away for a bit and then the sales associate suggested that I "negotiate" to go in the middle of the price I offered and the managers price. Sure enough the manager agreed to that. The deal was okay, it worked out just slightly cheaper than the sticker price at other stores just with delivery and taxes included. I was told it would be delivered Wednesday or Thursday. Then I get a call that there delivery team was booked on Wednesday so it would have to be Friday. Friday rolls around and they call ahead to tell me that they are coming. There were two guys, one who spoke a little English and one who spoke none. The one who spoke English was rude and abrupt. I have cats and so everytime the movers brought something in I would shut the door behind them. Then when they left they would leave the door wide open again! I do not understand how it is acceptable to leave the door open in someone else's place! They were quick but they did a poor job installing things. On the planks on the bed (there are 12) and they only screwed down 6. Then some of the screws were put in in such a hurry they were put in on an angle and are still exposed. Worse they left so quickly I didn't get a chance to really inspect the furniture. Sure enough there was 2 massive scratches in the bed frame. I called the store and they said they would call me back to have a technician come in and repair it. I am still waiting to hear from them. Although I like the set I bought I would not recommend them. They do have a big selection so if you go in and get ideas. But I would recommend finding what you like and then ordering from elsewhere.

They have multiple locations and the one on Granville is the one I attended. The staff are somewhat helpful. The selection is okay, but, the quality is superior to many other fabric stores. I was able to find something that worked for my project, however, it wasn't exactly what I wanted. The prices are higher than what you would get at Fabricana, Fabricland etc but they do carry more speciality fabrics. Their selection for embellishments is small. Their store in Victoria is much better for selection.

We had carpet in our entire apartment which we wanted replaced as soon as possible. I contacted D&J regarding getting a second quote for a flooring I had seen somewhere else. I did not tell them I already had a price per square foot. Their price came in $1 cheaper than the other supplier. As a result I went into their location to speak to them. Both Ryan's (there are two) were wonderful, both friendly and helpful. In the end I picked a different flooring than I originally requested the quote for. I was thrilled with how patient and accommodating D & J flooring was. The only part which I felt could have been better was regarding baseboards. I did not just want the flat plain baseboards that they would put in. Also their cost for baseboards was based on total linear feet of the entire apartment. We have extensive amounts of floorboard heaters (one along every room wall) so essentially we would be charged even for feet which no baseboard was to be installed. I decided to see what it would cost if I provided my own baseboards and just had them install it, the price was ridiculous, still very high for something so simple. In the end I am ending up doing it myself Other than that issue I have been thrilled by the customer service, selection and quality of materials.

We went on Boxing Day to see if we could get a good sale on a sofa and loveseat. We have looked at all the other stores along United Boulevard and stopped at this one and saw something we were interested in. The sales associate Mike was very brash and kept trying to hurry the sale saying that the Boxing Day sale is only that they only and tomorrow all the prices would change. We tried to negotiate and he was standing firm. We then spoke about the insurance called guardsman and he gave us a quote. We tried to talk him into give us that included. He still won't budge. Then a few minutes later we are talking to him with his manager beside him and mike quoted the price again. His manager then chimed in that the price was actually less. Mike's response was not one of an apology but claiming it was his boss' fault for not informing him. We had enough and left. A few days later the sofa and chair was still our favorite so we went back to see how different the price was. The price was the same and so we looked for another sales person to avoid Mike. We found someone, Christine, who seemed lovely started talking to her and then Mike came along and told her it was his sale so told her he would handle it. We explained we didn't want to deal with him... Needless to say he was unimpressed, the manager did nothing and as a result they lost our sale.

We had a small in town move and needed something big enough to take all our boxes and bit of furniture. While the Uhaul coquitlam location staff were nice, the truck was clean and as described I have always been surprised by the final bill. Their website prices don't always match up with the branch location. While some locations offer promotions on the urial hire then the price per km changes. I would also recommend checking if you are insured for small trucks on your other car/visa insurance. If you are, you can avoid the costly in branch insurance.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Have price and promotional rates easier to view by branch location with the fine print
