We recently moved into an older home and we knew it needed some work done on it. The first major project would be replacing the windows (19) and doors (4), making sure we can make the home as energy efficient as possible. That's where Terry Blondin and Clera Windows and Doors came in. We had already had 2 quotes from competitors and Terry came in and we really liked his style - not pushy in any way and very informative. He helped us make some difficult choices and also took his time explaining the differences between the different types of windows and doors. The prices were extremely competitive as well. We signed the deal at the end of September and we were informed about 8 weeks for the delivery and installation. The delivery was about a week later than planned, but I'd rather have the windows made properly than have a rush job completed. The installers arrived on the scheduled day and got to work right away. Their work was very clean, they were fast and completed all of the windows (rough installation) and 2 of the doors on the first day. On the second day, the remaining doors were installed, and then they went to work on the aluminum capping. Seeing that the house is so old, there were some strange angles and odd pieces and cuts that were required, so much so that the installer had to come back another day to finish the job. We understood, and as I mentioned, we would prefer to have the job done right than rushed. The installers were also able to preserve all of the casings around the doors and windows, allowing us to preserve the character of the home! All said and done, we have already noticed a difference in the heat retention in the home, and the house looks like it got a new lease on life. We have had windows replaced in the past from other companies (different homes) and the outcome was never as good as our experience with Terry Blondin and Clera Windows and Doors. Great pricing, and they gave us the option of insulating materials! We were expecting an addition to the family so we wanted to make sure that the nursery will be nice and warm above our garage - the one bedroom that was always a few degrees colder in the winter. We had quotes from two other companies prior to meeting with Jason. Both of the contenders gave us a quote using only the spray foam product where we would need to replace the drywall either ourselves or they would do it for an additional $800! Ridiculous! Jason gave us the option of the spray foam or packed fiberglass and explained the advantages and disadvantages of both. We chose the packed fiberglass for two reasons - more cost efficient and We wouldn't need to have the drywall replaced. Now that winter has set in(review written end of December), we have already noticed a significant difference in the temperature of the bedroom above the garage. Great job guys, and I will not hesitate in recommending you in the future.
