Update #2: Dodd's came back last week and undertook the repairs as promised. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work in the repair and the personal attention I received from the owner Len Dubowitz to rectify what was initially a poor experience in after sales service. I upgraded the score to a 9 and if I had not had to escalate this over a number of months, they would have got a perfect score. Update # 1: This review published above certainly got the attention of the owner Len. He immediately acknowledged that they dropped the ball, made no excuses and has offered to fix the caulking problem as soon as the weather permits. He also offered to fix the aluminum cap at no charge where I damaged it with my car. That was completely my fault and I expected to pay for that but Len graciously insisted on picking up the tab given the problems we have had over the last four months. On that basis, I have upgraded my rating. When the job is finally done, I expect to upgrade it again because overall the product is very good and the sales service was very good as well. Lovely garage doors. Good sales service. After care service has been horrible. I have called Stan in the service department for almost 4 months to redo a badly executed caulking job around the aluminum cap on the garage door frame. He has promised to come by personally numerous times and to call me back. In spite of two e-mails with photo evidence of the poor job and now 7 conversations with Stan, he has not shown up in spite of repeated reassurances from him to do so.

We certainly dropped the ball with this client and admit that his complaint is accurate and justified. We have since been in touch with him to apologize and make arrangements to go back and redo the caulking when the weather permits. We try very hard to get it right every time but there are those rare occasions when a staff member does not and we would encourage anyone having a similar experience to please refer the matter to higher authority and to speak to either Allan our Executive VP or the President Len before posting a harsh review on the world wide web.
