An unfortunate roofing and eavestrough job was done on our house one year ago, and Gryphon Extreme came to our rescue. They completely reroofed the house and porch, taking away all old shingles (3 layers on north side of house) and stick-on roofing on top of old torch-down on porch roof without damaging gardens or property. Attention was paid to detail every step of the way; they were quiet and courteous and cleaned up every night...we have a tiny lot so access was very difficult but they showed no frustration and were nice to have around. We would not hesitate to recommend Gryphon Extreme Roofing.

Substandard work and false claims of work done, required us to hire an independent roofing inspection company. As a result we have to replace all roof installations done by Quality Canadian Home Improvements to bring the job up to standards and make good any warrantees. Gardens were trampled and mulch pathways were scooped up and removed along with some of the roofing debris. Cleanup not good. Workers were pleasant, but we would certainly not recommend this company.

Company Response

QCHI stands by its work. When advised by the customer that there were issues with the roof QCHI had installed, as is our policy, we responded quickly and offered two solutions.

The first and preferred solution we offered was QCHI would re-do the entire roof at no charge to the customer and at the customer’s convenience.

The second solution we offered was if the client wished to have the work re-done by another roofing company, once the work was completed, QCHI would issue a cheque for the full amount of its original invoice to the chosen roofing company.

Either solution ensured the customer did not suffer from a QCHI installation oversight. The work would be re-done and whichever roofing contractor she chose would be paid the entire amount of the original QCHI invoice.

Therefore, any and all monies paid to QCHI by the customer would be applied to the new roof.

Unfortunately, the customer’s responses to our solution options were slow and when an agreement was reached, it did not last long, as QCHI received a second agreement from the customer that was not in keeping with the first and this led to confusion and further complications.

QCHI would still very much value the opportunity to re-do the roof in question and is more than willing not only to re-do the work but also to pay for an independent roof specialist to inspect the finished job.
