First Review

10/10

My brick Edwardian in the core turned 100 in 2019, and the final restoration I would finally undertake was going to be the cellar. Thirty years earlier, I had the cellar dry-walled with four finished rooms, however It seemed correct on the 100th anniversary to take it all back to the bones and restore the floor to it's original intention. Naturally when one uncovers walls in any vintage house, surprises await. I was prepared for this. The electrical was key to the restoration, and I wanted someone who appreciated the requirement for high calibre finish. Matt is a fine man who went about the work with that steady hand you expect from someone rurally raised but broadly educated. Reviewing his part in the project only brings pleasure since there wasn't a single consideration overlooked. His suggestions were definitely valuable and often utilized. Subsequently, I have only used MC Electric on other projects where electrical has been involved. I would offer up a few more shots of Matt's work, but only one picture is permitted.

2/10

I rarely write reviews and when I read them, I look to see what's written between the lines for correct insight. This review was entitled 'Full Service' for a reason: my experience with Ryan's Roofing reminded me of driving into a full service gas station as a kid: the best one's always emptied the ashtray, lifted the hood to check the oil, and finally checked the tire pressure. This is the third roof I will have installed on my home, and given the costly nature and importance of a roof, numerous quotes were sought after. I am not an easy customer as I have a particularly flinty, demanding, personality. Why did I choose Ryan's Roofing? It was not because of the pricing (which was competitive). Nor was it only the clear intelligence the man responded with to all of my detailed questions. It was indefinable really: he just seemed like the whole package I was looking for: sturdy, trustworthy, yet tastefully reserved. Intuition was correct: the quote missed nothing, and everything was spelled out. This had to be too good to be true. Other roofers didn't even show up, or the quotes were incomplete. Well the job was completed yesterday after three days, with me swanning about just to make sure nothing was missed or skipped. THAT was totally unnecessary, but I write that in so future clients who engage Ryan's Roofing will know better. I never felt calmer after that particular savings outlay, and the grand old Edwardian 3 story brick in the core, never looked grander. Follow Up a few years later. I have had leaking issues which began within a year. They appeared to be out of business and could not be reached at all. They re appeared the following year (last year) and after repeated calls finally got back to me after I threatened to rewrite this review. Made an appointment which they did not show up, so gave up on them even though they promised to show up for the next one. I should have done this last yea, but better late than never to do this update. I rescind the original post entirely and apologize to those who used this service on account of my written words.
