No one wants to hear they have asbestos in their home. As we prepared my father's home for sale, we learned from a pre-inspection that the vents had been lined with sheets of asbestos. It was a common insulator in homes the 60s and 70s, however for safety sake we wanted it removed before listing the house. I was given Templar's contact information and once I saw they were on HomeStars (and a best of winner), I felt relieved it was a reputable company. Robert, the owner, took my call immediately and explained how they work. He offered to address this urgent issue the next day. His team of two came with hazmat suits and requested we leave the home while they worked. Three hours later the work was done in 15 vents and photos documenting the work were taken. Thank you Robert and team for the thorough and efficient work! What a relief.

I contacted Mega City Roofing because they have been a Best of HomeStars roofer for many years, and they did not disappoint. My father's home cedar shake roof (original from 1970) needed replacing. We decided to replace the sides and back with high quality asphalt shingles vs cedar due to savings (currently cedar is very expensive). The front was done five years ago but the other parts were old. His crew of eight came 8am and ensured the job site was prepared eg. walkways and gardens were protected before they carefully removed the original cedar. They sealed the sides with a high quality wrapper (I'm not technical) and went on to shingle in a colour and pattern that blended in with the front cedar shake. Photos and repairs were made as they went. The owner, Tom, took the time to inspect the flat roof above and clear out drains as an over and above. I've included a photo of the drain and debris they cleared as well as a before and after photo. Tom gave us a 15 year warranty for workmanship. I doubt we'll need it but great piece of mind. You can tell they all take pride in doing excellent work. Thank you Tom and the Mega City team!

I needed drapes for our cottage in two bedrooms and a boathouse and wanted something nice that would black out the light, but reasonable. The drapery company that did our home was excellent but their price was over $8,000. I went to Drapery King, and saw that their fabric books were from the same source (same mfg and exactly the same fabric). Their price came in much less. I've added a photo of the boathouse - which required multiple panels. They really make the room dark and yet elegant when closed. Very happy will use them again. Mark the owner is often on site and very helpful.

I called Closets by Design based on their reviews here and was not disappointed. Sara came to measure and design three closets for my father's new apartment, a walk in and two smaller closets. The delivery had a longer lead time than another quote (6 weeks) however the end result was worth the wait. Mardo the installer was meticulous, cleaned up after himself and spent the full day getting it right. I'd hire them again. I will need a couple of extra shelves now that everything is getting filled, and will be calling to get these made. Thank you Sara, Mardo and team.

I left my dog at the father's house for a few days while I was travelling and she had multiple accidents (#2 and runny!) in two rooms with carpeting. UGH - I tried to clean them but the damage was really bad. The bedroom cream carpeting was destroyed. I honestly thought I'd have to rip the carpet out in there, and replace it. I spoke to Avery at Yorkville and he came the next morning to try and fix the issue. He spot treated the multiple areas. I don't have a before picture but the after is incredible. He came back two days later to spot treat the cream carpet. A miracle. Thank you for your prompt emergency care!
