My grandfather always said he liked to get quality work at a fair price. National Star Roofing also set this as the expectation and then exceeded my expectations, with high quality products, expert installation, fastidious clean up, and a friendly work team (all family members) who arrived in numbers large enough to ensure a one day completion thus no unwanted exposure of a half finished roof to the elements. I had two residential roofs completed in two successive days and even the bigger cedar shake removal and asphalt replacement was done in one day by nine good men. Beyond all this, the team supplied and installed a new chimney at the lower cost property (along with some roof sheathing) without any change to the original estimate. I absolutely recommend these guys!

Company Response

Thank you Dave for taking the time to write about your experience with National Star Roofing. Your grandfather was a wise man. It is really hard to find companies that provide a good value for the buck these days. We are not the only company that does that, but we need to have more. Homestars is a great organization that helps homeowners like yourself research a company's past before they can hire them. It also allows them to keep the company on their tows the whole time. If at some point the roof has an issue for example, we have a commitment to respond to the client and fix the issue within hours. We can afford to do that because we get so few of these calls every year that you can count them in one hand.
We appreciate your input and we encourage you to use HomeStars.com more often. Take care, Dave.

I am getting worried. My tenant called this company to have a leak corrected and got an original quote of $850 - $1650 (I found this stunningly high but when your place is leaking you suck it up.) They did in fact stop the initial leak so the gyproc is drying out, but they have now delayed a number of times before completing the job so the bathroom is not being used. There was, however, no delay in them charging my Visa for the full amount of all the uncompleted work - $1650. Stay tuned my friends for the rest of the story. I have now spoken to their customer representative and she seems very cordial and willing to work out something to get me happy with what they've done (but we're not going further); she has to talk to her manager - hope is increasing. Follow up: I was able to get refunded for the unfinished work. The company's approach seems to be to bill aggressively and then make amends after. If you're not interested in the confrontation, I would be careful here.
