We interviewed over a dozen contractors and were most pleased with the response that we got from Mario. Not because he was the cheapest or had the best success stories, but because we felt that he was honest in his initial evaluation and was upfront about what could and couldn't be done, along with various options at our disposal and his cost expectations for each option. He was creative with different challenges with our basement, resulting in great design solutions (built-in shelf feature; custom bi-fold doors; custom shower). He came almost every day, and on those days when he was busy at another site or even after-hours, he was easily reachable through phone, email, and text messages. His team cleaned up at the end of every day and had no problems with any of his team. In fact, the few times that we did talk to team members, they always invited us to take a look at the work and advise Mario of any defects or changes we wanted. The drywalling was pretty dusty, but Mario warned us of that several times beforehand. There were no surprises other than a slightly longer schedule - but that was our fault; we asked for changes. One of the best things about Mario was that he wasn't pushy at all - we were informed in advance of any possible deviations from the contract, and gave us informed options for every decision we needed to make... giving us time to do our research and come to our own conclusions.

Mathew was punctual, called 15 minutes before he arrived. Diagnosis was clearly explained and detailed - matched my research and expectations. Answered all my questions clearly and completely without any pressure to commit. Fast, for a major repair. Kept me informed of every step of the repair. Conscientious - cleaned up the area afterwards. Informative - gave helpful tips about dishwasher. Polite and friendly throughout.
