I wanted a pipe extended to a somewhat atypical position and Alan took time to understand what I needed and why before sending a plumber to do work. It was a small task but my condo required a licensed plumber. The cost was more than was quoted by a different plumber who repeatedly failed to show up, but it was worth the difference for reliable service. Alan’s plumber showed up at the agreed time and completed the work quickly and neatly.

My Panasonic microwave stopped functioning after only 6 months of use. It was a challenge to get info from the manufacturer regarding authorized service providers but once I got that list and contacted Downtown Dupont everything was straightforward. They were clear about what info was needed and when follow-up should be expected. My microwave was taken away to await parts for repair but was returned when promised. The technician was very punctual. I can't comment on pricing because the work was done under warranty and I didn't see a bill for it.

Communication with Urals and online reservation was quick and easy. The movers showed up on time and were careful but efficient in handling my furniture. Mine was a small move. Movers I had used before were unavailable or unwilling to take on the job. I chose Urals entirely on the basis of previous HomeStars reviews and am grateful for all who take the time to comment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them after my experience.

Garnett is a pleasure to deal with. He shows up on time and solves problems quickly, along with providing practical advice on when it makes sense to repair an aging appliance and when it makes sense to replace it.

Elbers has refinished several antique pieces for me. It's a lengthy process but the work was done within the timeframe promised. The results were great and the finishes have held up well. In one case, the charge was slightly more than we had agreed in advance. That's because Ron found it was more complicated than expected and did more than what I had asked. I wasn't consulted before the extra work was done. I would have agreed anyway but would have preferred to be asked first.
