The re-tiling of my master bathroom was the last step in fixing my problem. As I had mentioned in my Comment regarding EXPRESSROOTER company, the owner (Martin) has personally took the time to speak to one of Mike Holmes on Homes official tilers. Stan Gordon came highly recommended. Getting a hold of Stan was a bit of a challenge at first since he seems to be extremely busy... Mike Holmes has always said, "if a contractor (i.e. plumber, tiler, etc) indicates that they can start right away, most cases they are not professional. Professionals are always busy"... Anyway, when I finally got Stan to come and reassess my tile situation, he was very informative. He had clearly indicated what needs to be done and what can wait so that it's not heavy on my pockets. His price is slightly higher than what I was hoping for but I have seen his work in some of Holmes on Homes episodes. The results was worth it! Stan indicated that the work can be completed in 2 to 3 days. The work was completed on the 5th day from when he had started only because he was unable to show up on the 3rd day. On the day of our 1st meeting, he did showed up at least an hour late... he had call to tell me he was running late... I later found out that he was in a car accident and still showed up for our meeting driving the damaged truck. The following days after that initial meeting, he had been coming later and later but with the courtesy of calling to inform me of the lateness which I didn't mind since his lateness has worked in my advantaged. The last couple of days of work, he had deliberately been late to ensure that my 2 kids (3yrs old girl and 8th mth boy) gets their morning nap without me asking. At one occassion, he was outside waiting until he has seen some sign that my kids were up and about... the sign being me opening the screen door... this was not arranged. Throughout the whole time, Stan has been a pleasure to deal with and very thoughtful of my kids and their routine that I didn't realize until the end that he had been working around our schedule without so much a word / complaint. I highly recommend Stan for your tiling work if you want to get it done RIGHT... however, patience and understanding on your part is a must since Professionals (like Stan) are very busy (in high demands) that you will definitely ran into some lateness / delays. By the end of his job with us, he is already scheduled to work on my neighbour. He is definitely coming back to do other tile work around our house!

We had recently purchased / moved to a home in Ajax. Late March, an old leak (pointed out by previous 1-yr owner and supposedly had never occurred with them) had re-appeared. We had to open up the beam to expose the water damage (finding a temendous amount of black mold). We had contacted a previous plumber we had dealt with once in our previous home even though had charged us $2000 for a 'snake' drain work. We didn't know any better but trusted the only one we had dealt with regarding any plumbing issues... After a couple of visits from the guy, costing $420 on replacing a spout, almost charged another $1000 for working on a pipe 'assumed' to be the problem... AND STILL problem not fixed.... we were provided another quote of at least $4000 to replace jacuzzi tub with regular tub to supposedly fix the problem... I simply had enough with hours of stressful tears (being at home with 2 kids on mat leave)....I am a big fan of HGTV & Holmes on Homes that I checked out his website and found ExpressRooter. I've contacted the company and immediately received an exceptional CUSTOMER SERVICE from Melissa... Due to the lateness of the call, a technician (Jeremy) was scheduled to arrive early next morning to assess the situation and provide me my options. Let me tell you this, whatever I had to do does not cost $4000. I was provided several options and given a thorough explanation of my choices so that I can make a sound decision... Some people might doubt the sincerety of those people on TV giving Mike Holmes a hug after reparing the damages... BUT... I can tell you this, I now know the feeling... I (too) had the emotional desire to give Jeremy a hug on our first meeting after his assessment. During the job, Jeremy had also uncovered tile work that was not properly done... WRONG CEMENT. Again, I was provided options and thorough explanations so that I can make a comfortable decision on what to do. Even after the fact, Jeremy had personally spoken with Martin about my situation and I was informed that Martin (will personally feel comfortable) of speaking and referring me to an official Holmes contractor for the tile work to ensure that the job is done right... THE FIRST TIME. Right now, we're just waiting for a call from the tile people to assess the situation, but the bathtub has been replaced. Our FORCED renovation is not yet complete but we know, there is a light at the end of the tunnel... AND LET ME TELL YOU, if it's anything related to plumbing, that light is EXPRESSROOTER!.... POST REVIEW (MAY13): Finally got tiles done 1 wk later. Getting Jeremy back to finish installing the faucet fixtures was excrutiating. I had been informed (Melissa) that he's extremely busy hence his earliest availability will be a week later. After 2 weeks of several cancelations / postponed appts, he finally showed up only to inform me that he will have to come back since (apparently) the tile guy did not leave appropriate spacing to do the job. After addt'l 2wks of cancelations, I am happy to say that the job is completed to my expectations. The delays were very disappointing... at first, I was the one who had to call to find out the appt is rescheduled. However, towards the end, I believe they sensed my frustration and are deeply apologetic that Melissa began to call me to inform me of the cancellation AND in turn, a personal call from Jeremy. I've been quoted a $500 job to finally put the fixtures in, which I thought was part of the whole cost already paid, BUT I'm glad that they didn't charge me due to my wait. My 4 toilets were also visually inspected as promised, due to some problems we've been experiencing, at no extra charge. I am sad to say I was also told that, due to my frustration, he offered to install a new fixture in my sink for no charge BUT it was not done. Still, ExpressRooter is the way to go!
