My fireplace would not start up, so I started my research for someone local who was highly rated. I found GTA Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. was a GOLD Dealer for my brand of fireplace so gave them a call. After describing the symptoms, Mike was able to provide me with a high and low range for the repair, and was able to come within a few days which was great. On the arranged date, he let me know he was going to be a little late, and arrived at the revised time. His first step was to thoroughly clean the fireplace and replaced the ignitor. Although he was able to get it going, it would not stay lit. After several attempts he indicated because I had a mercury switch, I needed a complete upgrade kit. This meant the repair was going to be the high side of his estimate and would require another visit. Once the kit came in, we arranged for his second visit a few days later. Mike arrived on time and started the task of gutting the fireplace in preparation for the upgrade kit. I was amazed at what he had to do to install the replacement kit. As Mike put it, he replaced the heart of the fireplace. He did a great job and cleanup everything up when the job was done. The fireplace has been working great ever since and it looks really nice now that we can see through the glass. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of the work that Mike did and would not hesitate to recommend them for fireplace repair. I will definitely call them again should I need any further work done. [Please note, that there is another company called GTA H & A on Homestars, but it is not the same company].

The insurance company arranged for the WINMAR to come to secure our home after break-in. They were very quick and did a thorough job of providing a temporary fix using our existing doors. They replaced the locks and added a strip of steel for reinforcement. Within a few days, they came back with replacement front doors and new patio doors. Since it was extremely cold, they agreed to come back later and do the painting when it was warmer outside. Months after the job was done, I noticed that I had a draft around the patio door. I simply reached out to WINMAR and they can back to add a small piece of weather stripping within 24 hours of my call. All throughout the process the Project Manager at WINMAR provided an exceptional customer experience for me and all the trades involved were all pleasant and provided excellent service. I ended up dealing with 4 contractors over the course of the claim and I was happy with all 4. They were all experienced professionals who took pride in the work they did. I would not hesitate to use WINMAR again in the future.

My air conditioner failed me during the heat of the summer. I called a few companies without any response and then finally late Saturday night I called A-Plus Quality. The gentleman indicated that he could come out Sunday morning to take a look. This is exactly the prompt response I needed as it was hot. He came out and indicated the compressor was blown and while he could fix it, recommended a newer unit instead. (Mine was 21 years old). I agreed, I asked him about the furnace as well, since it was the same age and gave me problems during the past winter. He worked out a deal to replace both, which also made me eligible for the government rebate. I agreed, but only if he could get then done quickly as it was very hot in July. He indicated that he could get them installed on Monday. (Yes the very next day.) I agree and went with his recommendations on what to install. Monday morning 2 guys showed up to start the very large job. They hoped to have the units replaced and have me up and running by around 4:00pm. Unfortunately, it was bigger job then they anticipated, and a second crew showed up around 6:00pm to help finish. They completed the job just after 9:00pm. I was present during the whole installation and I was totally impressed by the professionalism and attention to detail. They kept me posted on progress, answered my questions, and really provided me the comfort that I was getting a quality job done. I held off giving the review as I wanted to ensure the furnace was working as well as the air conditioner. While we did test it upon installation the real test is when it gets cold. Now that we’ve had about of month of colder temperatures I am proud to say I am as happy with the furnace as I am the air conditioner. I would highly recommend A-Plus Quality, as I am impressed by the service I received from the original tech to the four techs that showed up to do the job. They covered my carpets to ensure they did not track dirt from outside in, and did a perfect clean up both outside and inside when they finished. The only evidence they were here was the shiny new air conditioner and furnace and my house cooling faster than it has ever cooled before. I have a fireplace I want to get serviced, and there is no question in my mind who I will be calling. It will be A-Plus Quality. Fast friendly service with techs who really seem to enjoy their work and paid attention to every little detail as if they were installing the units in their own homes.

I spent a lot of time researching a number of companies, 15 in all, and Cornell roofing came out on top in these areas: 1) responsiveness, 2) professional and approachable, 3) detailed and well documented estimate 4) reasonable price and 5) consistent and reliable service from the first call to the signing of the deal. When providing an estimate, Mike took measurements and inspected the roof while he was at it. Recognizing that we had lost several shingles he indicated that if we decided to use him, he would patch our roof to tie us over until the nicer weather. (I don't really want to put on a roof in the middle of winter if I can avoid it). After getting quotes from over 10 companies, I chose Cornell, hands down. As soon as I called Mike to let him know he would be our chosen roofer, he responded with a thank you, and then said we will be over today to patch your roof. Wow, talk about service. I indicated that I would not be home for a few hours, he indicated not to worry, with the prediction of several cm of snow, he wanted to get it done before it was covered. By the time I got home, he had already been done and left. Mike came back later in the evening to sign the deal. That is true customer service. Mike and his crew will be doing the roof in April, and we are really looking forward to it. I will provide a review on the installation and the overall quality of the job once complete. However, I was so impressed thus far, I wanted to share my experience with all those who are in the process of getting roof quotes. May 12 -- I'm back as promised with a review of the work Mike and his crew did with replacing my roof. In a word, PERFECTION, in his words, we stand behind our work and it is far easier to do the job right the first time then to have to return and fix it later. From start to finish Mike was very professional, and it speaks highly of the Mike's integrity. All you will get from Mike, is honesty, fairness, a reasonable quote, and a superior quality job delivered as promised backed by a great warranty. If you need more than that, then I wish you happy hunting. My job was not a small one, and the weather was not very cooperative. Notwithstanding, we set a date, and Mike indicated he would call me the day before to advise whether we would need to change the date. Unfortunately, with the prediction of rain, he indicated he would prefer to delay a day then risk a heavy rain on an open roof. I agreed. He showed up a day later as promised, and everything played out exactly how he told me it would. The dumpster arrived, the crew arrived and then the shingles arrived all between 7:00 and 7:15 am. I was actually impressed by how close to the exact time everything arrived. It might have been luck, but I suspect it is due to Mike's experience. I had 8 guys on my roof that day, perhaps a larger than normal crew because it was a two day job and more rain was predicted in the afternoon of the second day. Mike told me that they would do the main roof the first day while they had the large crew, then the second day would be a smaller crew to finish up. Given the prediction rain, he said he would sure the job was completed before the rain. He finished with about 2 hours to spare, none too much when you are working with Mother Nature, but enough just the same. I spent the first day watching these guys in action and no detail was over looked. My wife was there for the finishing touches and the cleanup. They worked steady and did not cut corners. You would think they were installing a roof on their own homes, and that is the attention and care I was hoping for. I am so impressed by the job. I had no idea the roof was going to add as much curb appeal as it does. The finished product is a show case. Lots of neighbours in the area came out to admire the roof with me. You owe it to yourself to call Mike and have him quote on your job. You have nothing to lose. As mentioned before, I did my homework, and it was well worth the time and effort I put into finding the ideal company to do my roof. A roof is not something you put on every day, hopefully I won't need to worry about mine for another 40 years. All the more reason to ensure you get someone you can trust to do a high quality and professional job. Your roof stands out and is something everyone is going to see.
