I checked out the company's website and reached out online for a quote which was responded to the same day. I had a few additional questions which were also responded to in a timely manner. They were able to come within 3 days to clean the exterior windows of our 2 storey home. I wasn't home when the cleaning was completed but my husband said the 2 guys were friendly and efficient. They were also dog lovers which was a plus as our dog loves to say hello to everyone. I could definitely tell the windows had been cleaned when I pulled up to the house, especially the garage door windows which I could now see through! Overall, this was a great experience from booking to the finished service.

Our first encounter with Academia was wasking up to find ater in our bathroom floor after a severe rainstorm. Academia was the only company that answered my call, provided advice in what to do until they arrived, and said they would come that day to take a look. Joe came and the leak was a result of some shingles having blown away. While he was here, my husband and he went in the attic to make sure everything looked ok. Joe mentioned that the venting should be looked at as they could feel significant temperature fluctuations. Gord came down to take a look and provide an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He also provided the name of a recent client who had similar work done so we could find out what their experience was like. We decided to get the work completed. Joe and another gentleman came by to conduct the work which had the interior work completed in a day. They came back to finish some exterior work and at our request, help change some exterior potlights as our ladder couldn't reach the roof line. The guys were friendly and left things neat and tidy. Overall, we are happy with the work completed.

I wanted to make a kitchen cabinet more efficient by installing drawers that could pull out as the space is narrow and deep. I called Dan to discuss and he was upfront in terms of if it would be feasible to get the drawers installed - if too narrow, may lose too much space to make it worthwhile. I also asked about the idea of getting drawers installed above the fridge. He suggested that it may not worthwhile could be dangerous if something heavy was stored in it and pulled out. I called during the week and he stopped by that weekend to take measurements. From there he expected to come back the following weekend to install. The drawers were ready but his supplier for the sliders was behind so we got them installed a week later. Dan was professional and the drawers look great. We are definitely making better use of the space as I can pull out the drawers and see what is in the back.

Unfortunately, you only think of sump pumps when they fail. Well, we discovered ours failed on a Friday. Saturday morning we called Clarke's and got their answering service. It took 3 calls until we received a return call but after that, we were happy with the service. Jose arrived at our house about 2.5 hours after our call was returned. He took a look around at the pump and at the damage and offered advice on things we should consider. He replaced the pump so we would have piece of mind, explained how it worked, and left information for us to review to determine what pump we would like to have. On Monday, we called Clarke's as we decided on the Ultra pump - sumpy pump with battery back-up. We were scheduled for March 9 when Jose would come back to install the bacttery back-up. However, they had an opening on March 1 so we got it installed earlier as they knew we were concerned. It took Jose and a colleague about 3 hours to install as they had to make the space larger, replace the pump liner, etc. After the installation, he showed us how the pump works. This company was recommended to us for the pumps that they use. They have an alarm that will sound when the pump fails and also an alarm when the back-up pump starts to operate so you know something is up with the main pump. Looking at our old sump pump (less than 2 years old) and the newly installed one, you quickly realize that not all sump pumps are created equal. Hopefully, we never have a sump failure again. Jose and his colleague were very personable, professioanl and left the area very tidy although Jose got quite dirty in the process! We now have piece of mind that we have ample time to address any future sump pump problems.
