We hired Eni to do several jobs around our house - we were looking for a handyman who could also do a whole bathroom reno, and out of the 3 or 4 people we got to come and quote the job, we felt that Eni was the most transparent and had the best ideas - we felt comfortable with him straight away. We were on a tight timeline as we were planning a move in under 2 months and Eni also had a tight schedule, but he fit us in and started in under a week. With his assistant Mike, Eni put a half bath into our basement and was then going to move on to do our upstairs/main full bathroom, but we threw him a few curveballs - seeing how well the small basement bathroom turned out, we asked him for another quote on finishing the basement walls. He finished the walls, even made us a separate laundry room, and was again super patient with us when we asked him to quote us finishing the basement ceiling as well. With the whole basement fabulously completed, Eni and Mike then gutted our upstairs bath and completely re-did everything to our complete satisfaction. In addition to the bathrooms and a now completely finished basement, Eni and Mike made some changes to our kitchen that dramatically increased the workspace, installed a new counter, sink & backsplash and added floating shelves. They also finished our backyard fence and installed a gate for its entrance, fixed the ceiling of a bedroom closet which had been affected by water damage, and put a new carpet runner on our main staircase. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things, but we could not be happier with all the work these two gentlemen did. They always communicated everything to us clearly, made excellent suggestions, were courteous and friendly, worked long hours until the job was done every day, and their quotes were extremely reasonable. By the end of the whole reno, we felt as though we had made 2 friends and we were sad to see them leave!! Even our kids loved them! If you have ANY work to be done in your house, we would not hesitate a SECOND to recommend Eni and his company. If we could give them more than 10 stars out of 10, we would!! We had a leaky roof in 2 places on the front of our house and we got quotes from several different companies we found on HomeStars. Star Moon was one of the companies that answered almost immediately and came to give us a quote I think the very next day. When they first arrived, they went up to examine the roof and took pictures of the damage, and then explained to us everything that needed to be done before giving us a quote. Their quote was very reasonable, they use Certainteed shingles (which are - according to industry professionals - superior to the other major brands out there), offered a 15-year workmanship guarantee and wrote out everything that they would do in detail on an order form . They were able to start the next day and they matched the shingle colour (we live in a semi) to our neighbours perfectly! When they finished the work, they did an excellent job cleaning everything up and I couldn't even tell they had been there! (except for the brand new roof, of course!). We came home to a freezing cold house after the fall temperatures dropped this weekend and had no idea why our furnace wasn't kicking on. We are new homeowners with a practically brand-new furnace (2010) and the unit was working fine last winter, so we were stumped. On top of that, the local dealer who originally installed the furnace had gone bankrupt, so we had to find another local dealer through the manufacturer's website, and Convertible Air was one of them. Before even asking me where we lived or telling me what their availability was like for service calls, the gentleman I spoke to at Convertible tried to solve our problem over the phone by going through simple trouble-shooting first, like suggesting to check the battery in the thermostat OR making sure the "light switch" (found on the ceiling) in the furnace room/near the furnace was on. This was a switch that seemed to "go nowhere" and had accidentally been switched off during our washer/dryer installation - so as soon as we switched that back on,...ta da!!!! We now have heat! And, thanks to the thoughtful and kind advice from Convertible Air, NO unnecessary service-call fee to pay!! Thank you again, Convertible - you made this young couple's day!! After calling numerous handymen we researched online, my husband and I ended up choosing Leaside Handyman for various renos in our new (old) house (electrical, new potlights & light fixtures, removal of load-bearing wall between kitchen & dining room, new kitchen counter, sink & range hood, etc.). Sean was very quick to get back to us and meet with us to give us a quote, whereas we had trouble getting a hold of many other companies, even to have a voice mail returned. Sean was extremely friendly and easy-going, and his quote was more than reasonable - he also was very flexible when it came to dealing with additional requests we made for extra work to be done, and did those jobs for an excellent price compared to previous quotes we had received. Sean was easy to get a hold of, honest, straightforward and trustworthy. We felt comfortable with him from day one, and an added bonus was that he didn't mind working with/around our dog in the house! Sean offers great value for his quote, and we even got him back to re-build our front porch for us at a later date!

We hired Steve to do a home inspection for the house we just bought in the Cliffside area of Scarborough. Steve was INCREDIBLY thorough and also very reasonably priced.
