I hired Ben initially after reading his reviews on HomeStars. My home is a two unit dwelling and I wanted to do structural renovations to both units. We started with underpinning the basement as part of the lower unit reno. (See my previous review.) Next was the upper unit. This plan involved moving and expanding the kitchen, renovation an existing bathroom, adding a bathroom, adding a deck on the second floor, and changing the roofline on the 3rd floor to make room for new windows. Again, it was a pleasure working with Ben. Both the drawings and permits were delivered on time. He was extremely professional and courteous. His ideas and suggestions were always smart and creative and very much aligned with what I want for the property. I highly recommend BBA Design Studios.

After researching for weeks about the best flooring options (tile, luxury vinyl, and engineered hardwood) for my heated (hydronic) basement floors I met with Tony from Unique Touch to discuss polishing the concrete slab. Tony was on time for our meeting and very helpful. He explained the process to me and the pros and cons of the different finish options (low, medium, or high gloss). He and his crew were very professional and a pleasure to work with. They followed through on the original agreement on time and on cost (very competitive). I would highly recommend Tony and the team at Unique Touch.

After spending a year meeting with different underpinning contractors, I hired Farshad and his crew to underpin my 100 year-old, detached, 3-storey house in West Toronto. Underpinning (800 sq/ft basement) an old house with water flowing through it is a job that requires a lot of expertise! I had plenty of anxiety leading up to hiring. Hiring 24/7 Pros gave me peace of mind. Throughout the process Farshad consistently replied to my questions in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner. His communication with me, the client, and also the neighbours was exceptionally professional from start to finish. He delivered on his word at every point along the way. The job included 3 structural walls to be replaced with steel I-Beams. One of these structural walls supported the entire brick face of the front of the house. I had concerns about this because before hiring an underpinner I spoke to multiple contractors who warned me of the complications (and expenses) that could arise when replacing this wall with an I-Beam. I expressed these concerns to Farshad before hiring him. He talked me through it and showed me examples of similar jobs that he'd completed. Farshad replaced this structural wall with no delays or additional expenses to me even though there were unforeseen complications that arose, as is inevitable with a 100 year-old house. The 24/7Pros crew was friendly, respectful, and mindful of my neighbours in order to minimize any inconvenience that the underpinning might cause to them. COVID and long stretches of unusually intense summer heat added unexpected challenges. Ron, Arman, and the 24/7 Pros crew showed up and did the work safely and professionally. No excuses, ever. I highly recommend 24/7 Pros. They delivered all that was agreed upon in the contract AND THEN SOME! When Farshad and his crew are working at your home you can expect to be greeted in the morning with a warm and genuine "Good morning" and on occasion some friendly, always positive, humour. It was a pleasure working with Farshad, Ron, Arman, and the 24/7 Pros crew! These guys really live up to the company name...they're true professionals!!!

I found Ben initially through HomeStars. His HomeStars reviews are excellent. In my first talks with Ben he was extremely helpful guiding me through the city archives procedures in order to gain as much information about my (old) house as possible. His guidance allowed me to save money by avoiding a costly property survey. His communication is extremely prompt and always very professional. He offered me multiple design options for the basement underpinning that were all well thought through for my particular needs. When I decided on a design that I liked he connected me with an engineer and promptly put together a permit application that was approved with out any delays. He really understands the permit application process and helped me procure a permit as fast as possible. I took my time deciding on a design and Ben was very flexible and accommodating making it clear that the important thing for him is that I feel good about whatever decision I make however long that takes. My work with Ben is ongoing as after the basement I'll be renovating the upper 2 floors of my house using his designs. I will recommend Ben to friends and family. His communication skills, his understanding of the codes and procedures, and his design ideas are all top-notch. Ben's been a pleasure to work with.

Rick ordered parts to repair a low-quality fridge that I'd bought new two years prior. He installed the new parts but it didn't fix the fridge. I ended up buying a new fridge with a better warranty. I'm giving Rick a top rating because he gave me a lot of his time, at least a few hours, tinkering with my fridge to fix it and then he charged me nothing. I've hired Rick in the past and I will continue to hire him and recommend him to friends and family.

I heard about Chris Brown Painting through HomeStars. Chris was quick to reply and arrange a time to meet and see the job. He sent me a quote within a day. I liked that his quote broke down the job in detail and was not just a total dollar amount. His quote was the most competitive of the 3 painters (all from HomeStars) that quoted on the job. Chris was always of his word, showing up when he said he would, with an easy and friendly manner that was a pleasure to be around. I wasn't sure that I liked one of the paint colours when I saw the first coat. Chris wanted to make sure that I had a colour that I was happy with so he worked on other parts of the job in order to give me a few extra days to decide if I wanted to keep the colour or change it. The finished paint job is absolutely top-notch. Chris is very meticulous. No short cuts taken. I will be recommending Chris Brown Painting to family and friends.

I found ECC through HomeStars. Rashid replied to my inquiry immediately. When he came to quote the job he fixed one of my issues, two dead wall sockets, on the spot for no cost explaining that they were in fact working but that the polarity of one of the sockets was reversed. The other item I had requested a quote on was putting a light fixture in a walk-in closet. Rashid explained that he could install an electric light in the closet but it would require a lot of work and drywall repair. He suggested going with a battery-powered motion-detector light that I could install myself. Rashid was punctual, courteous, and helped save me money. I will be using ECC again and will recommend them to family and friends.

Kiya and his crew did a great job! It was a big job stripping an old house of knob and tube. He did an extremely thorough job and I'm confident there were no short cuts taken. They took care to protect the floors and paneling. And they left the place very clean. I highly recommend Kiya!!!
