Buttons is my go-to company for all things related to our furnace, AC and water heater. Their service is excellent, from the friendly and helpful reception when I call them, through guidance on new equipment and installation, and on to their ongoing annual servicing of our systems. Their office staff, management and service technicians are all friendly, helpful and professional and all service calls occur on the date and time scheduled without incident. Daron and his colleague did a major tree pruning and trimming job in our back yard. From the very start here on HomeStars, Daron was very responsive and professional. He arrived early for the visit to provide an estimate, discussed the trees and their needs very knowledgably, and provided a very attractively priced detailed job estimate shortly after the visit. Similarly, when the day to do the work came, Daron arrived early again and was unfailingly professional, friendly and polite. The big job took a lot of time and care, and afterwards Daron and his colleague cleaned up our yard including taking away more than just their own debris! It was getting harder & harder to remove the key from our front door lock after locking or unlocking the door. I called and FC Locksmith sent Sasi over to our house within 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem, explained our options, and replaced the lock cylinder with one that is color-matched to our door hardware. Sasi was fast, polite, professional - great to deal with!

We have used Button's for many services over the years (A/C maintenance, heating maintenance, hot water heater repair and maintenance) and have always been happy with their service. Most recently, they fixed a leaking natural gas line to our barbeque, and returned to help us solve the mystery of reduced gas flow (spiders!). As always, Button's was responsive, professional and great to deal with, from Penny and Jenn in the office to technicians Brendan and Andrew. Thanks Buttons!

Called Button's because I saw water collecting around our furnace. Very responsive - they set up a service call very quickly. Brendon came out, diagnosed the problem and fixed it (a clogged drain on the humidifier), and then checked all the other drains (including on the water heater as well), cleaned everything up, and did a safety check on the furnace. Brendon was great to deal with while he was here as well - and of course followed Covid protocols all the way too. As always, Button's was great to deal with!

Ondrej and his team from Matrix did an excellent job, starting with coming to do the estimate and giving us some very helpful advice on the type of finish and the shaping of the new concrete. After we accepted their estimate, they were very quick to schedule our job, always arrived promptly, and were great to deal with while they were here. The job was super professional, with rebar in the concrete to support our cars, and a beautiful stamped concrete finish. When they were done, Ondrej and his team cleaned up everything and took all the garbage away. Matrix was excellent to work with and we highly recommend them.

Our eavestroughs were overflowing regularly so we needed both a thorough cleaning (it's been several years!) and a detailed inspection. Tip Top were super to deal with - both the office staff and the crew that came out to the house were friendly, polite, responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. We very pleased and will use Tip Top regularly from now on. Tip Top Trough did a thorough inspection and provided estimates to repair the problems (which would last a couple of years) and to do a full replacement, including adding leaf guards (which would last much longer). We opted for the full replacement. The crew who came and worked on our house for the 2-day project were excellent! Vargas, Daniel and a third fellow whose name I didn't get were all very hardworking, diligent, professional and polite. Vargas was also very patient and polite when I asked what must have seemed like dumb questions. I was very impressed with the care they took both to measure and double-check all the numerous weird angles of our house, and their diligence in cleaning up. I have already recommended Tip Top to my next-door neighbour. I should also mention that dealing with Ally, Amanda and Shantal in the Tip Top office was a very pleasant experience. They are all very professional, well-organized and lovely to work with.

After having construction work done in our house, creating lots of dust, we realized we needed to get our air ducts cleaned. We used HomeStars to get quotes from a number of highly-rated firms and Twelve Points had the best quote. They also satisfied us about their COVID protocols. Today, Rupert, Paul and Dennis came and did an excellent job. They were very thorough, efficient, explained what they were doing, and were very pleasant to have in our home. We were very impressed with them, and will certainly use Twelve Points again.

We needed to replace all 15 windows on the main floor of our house. We approached Galaxy WD for a quote after seeing great reviews on Homestars. Their superior service was evident from the moment Alex arrived to estimate the job: unlike the representatives of other window companies who had come to see us, Alex followed COVID protocols by putting on a mask and gloves before even approaching our house. He was great to work with, was very informative, and did not put on any pressure, and did not denigrate the competition (again, setting a higher standard than the other firms' representatives). On top of that, Galaxy's price was the best. Pre-installation service was very good, giving us lots of notice of the installation date and a useful checklist to follow to prepare for the installation. The installation team was first rate: not only did they do a beautiful job and clean up after themselves, they were also very pleasant to have in our house, and followed COVID protocols throughout. They were extremely careful of our bushes and shrubs around the outside of the house. Their work was very careful and professional, and the results spectacular. We are most delighted. A water stain appeared on our main floor ceiling and was growing fast. The room above that ceiling is the master bathroom. Put the word out on Homestars and Steve responded very fast. Came to see the leak within an hour. Suggested a likely cause and a minimally disruptive course of action - inspect & replace the toilet gasket - and did the work. Fast, friendly, professional, COVID-careful and cleaned up after. Highly recommended.

Our back steps were crumbling away and our patio was infested with weeds and ants, and had loose stones and sunken ones as well. We called Marc at Nortown because they had done a super job of our front steps, path and driveway a couple of years earlier. He recommended concrete steps, plus power washing, polymeric sand and resealing of the patio, and quoted a very fair price. His crew - Joe, Andy and Dave - did a superb job and cleaned up completely as well. The job was bigger than expected but Marc held true to his original quote. The results are lovely as the photos show. We are happy to recommend Nortown!

We needed to replace the front steps to our house and the driveway. We also wanted to extend the front paved area next to the driveway. Marc came from Nortown very quickly to provide an estimate, and also gave a lot of very helpful advice even though that advice steered us away from some higher-cost items that would have benefited Nortown more. He came back several times as we changed our conception of our project, always friendly, polite and helpful. Nortown also gave by far the best estimate, and did not want a downpayment. When the time came to do the work, we realized we had a very heavy item in the way of the project -- no problem: the Nortown team used their equipment to move it and, when all the work was complete, they moved it back again for us. Marc kept us posted on the schedule for our work, and the teams came precisely on time. Their work is absolutely beautiful, both the concrete steps, the extended pathway and pad, and the new asphalt driveway. The driveway paving now merges beautifully with the concrete which it abuts, the steps and curved extension are lovely, and the curb appeal of our house has gone way up. And the job came in significantly under budget as well. I have already recommended Marc and Nortown to friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. We could not be more pleased!

We needed to replace all 16 windows in the upper story of our 15-year-old home. Dealing with Brock was a pleasure right from the start, as salesperson Steve came right on time and gave a very professional assessment & estimate, no pressure at all (unlike some of the other companies we got estimates from). From the moment we signed the contract with Brock, everything went smoothly and ahead of schedule. The installer, Sokol, came for the detailed measurements about a week ahead of time, and although we were told the windows would be installed within 6-8 weeks, they were done in 4. Sokol and his team were wonderful to have in our house for the two-day job. They were very hard-working, professional and polite, and cleaned up diligently after the work was done. They conducted the work itself masterfully, including dealing beautifully with a couple of challenges our house threw at them. It was a pleasure to deal with Brock, and we will be happy to hire them when the time comes to replace the other windows in our home.

We needed a new garage door and opening system. We had used Dodds before for an emergency repair, and had been impressed, so we turned to them for the new door. The salesperson, Michael, was very helpful in terms of suggesting color, window style, door features, and so on, without trying to "upsell" us. The installer, Leo, did a fine job and was very pleasant and helpful throughout the half-day job. Highly recommended!

Neil delivered superb service to us. He came when he said he would, was very professional in his approach, came back the next day with samples so choosing new shingles was easy, supervised the work, and made sure everything was to our satisfaction before we paid a cent. It was a pleasure doing business with him and Roof Pro +.

When I bought a huge house for my extended family -- a house with 5 bathrooms & bedrooms, and a fully finished basement as well -- I was completely daunted by the task of cleaning it. Jen at Absolutely Spotless was recommended to me for doing high quality work and using environmentally friendly cleaning products & practices -- important because I have a small child. Jen came and gave me an estimate and I was thrilled by the first clean they did (and the very reasonable price). So from that time on (April 2011), Absolutely Spotless have been cleaning the house for me. They are completely trustworthy, very polite & hardworking, and always respond to emails about extra tasks for the week, etc. It's a pleasure to deal with Absolutely Spotless -- and a pleasure to come home to an absolutely spotless house the day after they have been here!
