Craftwood Flooring

I called Scott and described the work to him and asked him to come and take a look and he never came saying that he knows what I am talking about and that they can fix it. On the day of work, no one showed up, I called him and he couldn't remember me at first! then he sent someone after 2 hours. The guy said he couldn't fix the problem! It has been 1 month since and I am still looking for a contractor. Scott ruined our schedule. Very unprofessional and disorganized.

I hired Craftwood Flooring after the reviews on this site. On the day the work was scheduled to start no one showed up. The next day one guy showed up and he didn't speak English. I had asked Scott to be there so I could point out some details of the job, he did not show up. I don't believe Scott ever visited the job after providing the initial quote, despite my complaints about the quality of work and my repeated requests for a meeting on site. For every complaint there was an excuse. The work was supposed to take a couple of days, it took 5. The stairs were not properly sanded so the surface is rough. For this reason the stain did not adhere evenly and looks terrible. I was told that this is because the material is pine. The gaps and crevices in the old floor were filled after the stain was applied so you can clearly see the wood filler. The area was not properly cleaned before the eurythane was applied so there is dust and debris in the eurythane surface. In one area of the living room there was a big puddle of eurythane. They tried to fix it but made it look worse. Overall the quality of workmanship was poor. When I complained I was told "they're a good crew" and that he would send them back tomorrow. They made some efforts to correct the problems but it still looks like crap. I would not recommend this company.

Scott was fast and efficient in creating a quote keeping track of the project from the beginning to the end. The crew showed up as promised, they has been effective, and tidy. They finished in time and great quality. I would definitely recommend him to anybody, who is looking for great reliable service! Upstairs floors of an old North Toronto home, sanded and stained approx 430 square feet. The floor look stunning now. Excellent work and trust worthy as we were away for 2 weeks while the job was being completed.

This company was efficient, economical and professional from beginning to end. Scott made all the original arrangements and got back to me immediately. After the agreement was made, the crew came on the weekend, completing a big rush job in 3 days. The old floors in this historical house now look beautiful - much preferred over new floors with no history. I recommend this crew to anyone considering restoring old floors. They refinished our steps, foyer, living and dining rooms and bedrooms. Great job! Harriet and Miguel.

The crew showed up right on schedule and did a great job.
Only one slight hitch was the fact that it took a little longer than expected and cost a little more than we were originally quoted (due to our hardwood being a non-standard kind that needed a different mechanism to work)..

However, we were very impressed with the finished product and the professional crew.. Highly recommended!

Scott's team sanded, stained and finished the floors in my livingroom, diningroom and hallway. They also made some repairs on damaged sections and covered up spots where there were redundant vents and returns. Scott was courteous and attentive at all times and he was always happy to explain what was happening despite me calling him constantly. He came in exactly at what his quote was. There were a couple misunderstandings but Scott quickly rectified them. I am utterly pleased with the work of Scott and his team (led by Thanh, all very friendly guys), they exceeded my expectations.

Scott at Craftwood was recommended to me by friend as someone who delivers outstanding quality work – and the recommendation was spot-on. Our floors look amazing, and are now one of the things my wife and I love most about our home. Unlike most (all?) of the other contractors we dealt with during our renovations, the quality of work Scott provided seemed personally very important to him. In addition to installing beautiful floors for us, I also liked that Scott gave us an honest assessment of what wood needed to be replaced versus re-sanded. Because of that, we ended up saving money by following his advice and just re-sanding our upstairs flooring (which also now look beautiful). Thanks, Scott!

I called Scott and he gave me a quote over the phone. I agreed and he started work the next week on a day I picked. His crew came in and finished everything in 4 hours (I was originally told 6). My only concern is that I haven urine stains on the floor (house was purchased power of sale) and I was not informed of the proper treatment to deal with this prior to job completion. Not their fault but they could have warned me. Overall it looks good but I might have to refinish that area of floor, again.

Craftwood Flooring did a remarkable job on our old hardwood floors. After I ripped up the carpeting in the living room and dining room (a hell of a job) which was put down in 1982, juding by the newspapers found underneath, we discovered the flooring there in pretty good condition. But the hardwood in the bedrooms was badly stained by a previously torn-up carpet that had apparently disintegrated. There was also some water damage apparent in the hallway just outside the bathroom. Scott assured me that once sanded and stained the floor would come up like new. The job really exceeded our expectations. I was concerned that it might not look uniform, but everything looks incredible. You would swear the hardwood was just newly laid.

I suspect Scott and his crew aren't the cheapest guys out there, but they're very good at what they do and we're extremely pleased with the end result. Money well spent.
