This company is extremely unprofessional. Our Job started March 2022 and still is not completed. First day on the job there was terrible communication. In October 2022 they finally contacted us after no work for weeks, to tell us they cant finish due to weather. They told us wed be first up in spring. Its not July 2023 and they have yet to finish the job.
They ripped out my glass doors, the flooring and the door frame for the garage side door in April 2022. No show after no show for measurements, they finally show and after that we have never heard from them again.
The quality of work in the house is very poor. New doors with cracks, front closet doors wont close again! I still have paint stains on my floor from their sloppy work. I asked for grey grout from my laundry room, came in and picked it out with one owner. Day of install I was told I didnt pay for grey I paid white. The white looks terrible with my white tiles.

Bathroom Renovation

We recently had our main bath renovated, included a custom 6 foot shower, 6 foot double sink vanity, heated tile floor, base board tiles, 2ft by 2ft shower tiles and a few other smart features, (Lighting and humidity sensing fan), Joe and his team are very competent, they totally cleaned up our old plumbing which was a mess, straightened a very crooked wall and stuck to our budget when these complications were discovered ,( the house is over 70 years old) , they were able to overcome issues with true professionalism!! I would not hesitate to have Joe and his team do other Renovations in my house. The bathroom looks Smart and Modern, Thanks, Joe, -------

Basement renovation

I highly recommend Joe and his team at Blueprint Renovations for any job. I hired Joe after much searching since I had just purchased an older home and wanted someone I could work with ongoingly. I certainly found this with Joe. He listened to my ideas, added his own and worked out prices in a detailed manner. Joe and his crew have excellent skill and knowledge, are very ecologically minded, friendly and respectful, and refreshingly creative when it comes to planning out projects. Joe welcomed all comparative ideas and prices and I was very impressed by his honesty. I am thrilled with a beautiful basement apartment which is expertly designed and constructed into a rather tricky space. Throughout all of this work, Joe and his team worked quickly, performed quality work, kept work areas clean and safe, and treated the rest of my home and my family with great respect. Additional jobs include a new attic entrance, complete firewall and third level storage space, as well as a lovely roof garden.

Wall-bearing load removal

We had a pretty bad experience with Joe from Blueprint Renovations. I would not recommend him to anybody. We hired Joe to remove a load bearing wall separating our living room and dining room and install a beam and posts/footings as well as relocate the electrical in the wall. We came home one day to find that he placed the light switches on the opposite end of the room from where we asked and marked for them to be. When we asked why it was done wrong, Joe said it was impossible to put it where we wanted them but offered no explanation about why. We ended up hiring our own electrician who was able to relocate it within 15 minutes. He said it was even easier and faster to do it the way we wanted it than the way Joe’s guy did it. When we let Joe know, he quickly changed his story and said that we had instructed him it was ok to put it there (what?!). He said we couldn't prove otherwise because there was no record so it was a matter of “he said she said”. Joe and his team also didn't bother using any plastic sheeting on our furniture or flooring, so we are now left with mudding stains on our floors and dust all over our couches. They used our kitchen sink to mix the mud in and left it stained every day for when we’d come home and need to use it for dinner. When we brought this up to Joe he said “I’m not a cleaner, go buy a mop and do it yourself”. One day we came home to find that they had accidentally cut the cable line for our internet. When we let Joe know it happened, he told me that wasn't true and it never happened. I was tempted to send him the cut wire in the mail. On the last day of the job he demanded that we drive to his place in the middle of the night to deliver his final check because he didn't want to come get it himself. Is this guy for real? He is incredibly rude and unprofessional and I would not recommend working with him or interacting with him at all.

Basement Renovation/New Deck

My husband and I chose Blueprint Renovations after meeting with 4 other contractors for the basement renovation of our 115 year old home in Toronto. Joe was enthusiastic and professional and had lots of great ideas for the design of the space, but at the same time was considerate of our budget. Unlike other contractors, he did not ask for $ upfront, but instead after passing each set of inspections (i.e. electrical) - which was a very different business style than one gentleman that asked us for 35% up front. His crew, specifically Brent and Matt are terrific. Very professional and will take the time to ensure good quality craftmanship of the work they do, which is a challenge in such an old home. Joe was onsite every day and would walk us through the process for next steps, payments, and the picking of materials. While we didn't have any major surprises, any issues that came up during the renovation were dealt with efficiently, in consultation with us and in keeping with the aesthetic of the home. We are extremely pleased with our new space and have been recommending Blueprint Renovations to our friends who are looking for contractors. All of Joe's subtrades - Electrical, HVAC, Tiling, Cabinetry - have been terrific as well and we have no complaints. We have also asked Joe and his team to makeover our backyard (deck/garden) since we are so happy with his work. It looks amazing as well.

addition

I interviewed a few general contracts for a large scale home renovation I was planning. I had the drawing completed prior to starting my search.. Some contractors would not even come out to see the work. Joe, however, was enthusiastic right from the get go. After a brief meeting and a quick look at the plans, he had immediate ideas about the job and helpful insight into the process. The job was a 7 month long journey. I must say, It would have been great to have the job done in 4 months, but after seeing the process and the mass amount of work on the details, I understand good things take time. The house was completely gutted, basement excavated, four additions added, and totally reformatted with all new house mechanics. Joe guided us every step of the way with all the details... and there where a lot of them. I would would recommend Joe Darragh and Blueprint Renovations to anyone thinking of a renovation.

Basement bathroom/laundry reno

My wife and I contracted Joe to renovate an existing basement bathroom/laundry area in our 100 year old house. Joe was easy to deal with, reasonable, and professional - especially considering the changing scope of the job as it progressed. We would not hesitate recommending Blueprint. We are very happy with our new living space.

Condo Bathroom

My tile wall on my shower was cracked due to underlying cement board disconnecting from the dividing cement wall. After contacting multiple contractors who either tried to quote me $10000 without looking at the bathroom or not returning calls, Joe was actually able to push the wall and determine the cause. He recommended an alternative to cement board and the final job was excellent. I've recommended him to friends. Professional and excellent communication skills.
