Reliance - Hot Water Heater Rental Programming ripping people off
I had purchased a building just recently.
There was a rental hot water tank from Reliance. I decided that I wanted to buy it out.
The hot water tank is 12 years old and it was installed in 2009.
Reliance collected $25.34 for 12 years or over $3600 for something that costs $1200-$1500.
Now when I want to buy it out, they are giving me an option of
$616 -> to buy it out. Which I don't want to do as this is old hot water tank. For $1200 I can have a brand new one installed.
They want to charge me
$400+tax for me to return it back to them.
This is the most ridiculous charge I had ever seen. When asked where is that charge -> the customer representative said that it was part of the
terms of conditions. Simple google that in 2014 Reliance was
fined for these exact practices and were told to put an end to
such practices
I am going to be returning the hot water tank but I am not going to be paying this ridiculous $400.
Think 10 times before signing up with this company for any rental products as this is complete ripping people of their money.
