I purchased a furnace from this company on Dec 13th, 2014. I purchased it based on a finance rate that the reliance salesman provided. When I signed the deal it was done on a laptop and the emailed to me later that night. When I got the email later that night it came back that there were going to charge me $4850 / month for the furnace. An obvious mistake because the finance rate was supposed to be $45.00/month. The salesman assured me that it was obviously a mistake and I didn't need to worry. The furnace was installed on December 19th and no word from reliance about any issues with the contract. 3 months passed and the company never took a payment and despite repeated requests for an updated finance agreement, nothing was provided. Then on March 9th, I get an email from the salesman stating he had made a mistake and the actual finance rate would be $64 / month. That was an increase in $2280 for the cost of borrowing. I filed a complaint and the Area Sales Manager stated that even though the salesman admitted his mistake in emails, an email is not a binding document and as a result my options were to: 1) pay for the furnace in full, 2) pay the new finance rate. or 3) they would come and take the furnace out my house. I am still shocked!
