leaky DHW tank

How many techs does it take to fix a leaky drain valve?
No this is not a joke.....
2 techs in one day and neither can fix the issue.
They say because there is no floor drain or sump that it must be done by a plumber. Now I am not sure about what others think, BUT I am pretty sure plumbers can use a pail just as easy as a reliance tech can.
So as the call was made at 630am and first tech at 1pm, second call at 7pm, second tech at 930pm. So the tank has had almost all day to drain on it's own onto the floor with customer left to clean up the mess. Spoke with several customer service reps and they said there is nothing they can do, so I got a bucket and did the impossible! Walked up stairs and dumped the water outside. Now finally they can come and fix the tank. Thank you to Julius though, (a CSR rep) who has taken it on his own to track this and make sure it gets completed this time. Hopefully excuse free. This has to be a first, as I have never heard or read anything like this happening before. I do hope some sort of review of these "technicians" can be done and perhaps some training on what a bucket is used for.
As a side note, a friend of mine told me that an in-line water pump can be used to solve issues like this, and it may not be a bad idea to have liquid based service personnel carry that tool in their work vehicle.

Approximate cost of services:
$0.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
carry an in-line service pump for hard/no drain situations.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
check your mechanical room for drainage. and service your sump pump once a year.
