The movers broke an expensive, custom-made stained glass window in m old house, and did not mention it (believe me, there is no way they could not have noticed it).
I have called 10 or 12 times, and gotten the runaround each time - they don't accept damage reports over the phone, then they don't respond 5 or 6 emails, then they say they have t check insurance coverage, then just never call back, then, here is the "icing on the cake", so to speak.
Insurance works by weight. So I get nothing, glass being considered not to weigh too much, I guess. They allocate 6 cents per pount.
So...really unprofessional response to my attempt to claim for damages...
I guess the bottom line is, if you have anything precious that doesn't weight very much, don't use this company.

Dear Jane Cote. Able Moving & Storage Ltd only accepts claims in writing by mail or email, like any professional organization would. We regret that this fact was not convenient for you and that you insisted on dealing with it by phone calls, delaying the process and aggravating you more. When you finally emailed Able Moving & Storage Ltd, we responded that we agreed that the accident had occurred and that our staff never hid it from you as you saw it happen. You were made aware that there was a possibility that something could go wrong with oversized furniture being moved within an undersized area. You declined to purchase extra insurance and signed the work order accepting basic standard coverage which all moving companies carry by law at $0.60 per pound. To make you happy we did offer $50 but you wanted $200, so we agreed to disagree. Bet regards, Jim... Able Moving & Storage Ltd
