There's just doing the job, and then there's going above and beyond. Jason and Canadian Roofing excelled at both. It's difficult to make it clear how good Canadian Roofing was without mentioning how bad the company we had originally engaged was.

We have a flat roof on a hundred-year-old semi. We began with an odd but manageable dampness that seemed to just require some decent patching. By the time the previous company was done with us, we had a crisis situation with an extremely bad, fast drip that would obviously require a new roof.

The previous company did the wrong job badly, and then wanted to charge us for a new roof, claiming their warranty was unserviceable because the old roof was in such bad shape. If they had simply done the original job correctly, it wouldn't have been a big deal, even if there'd been problems.

We gave up on them and their worthless "discount" and tried Jason. He was fantastic. The job wasn't cheap, but it was still cheaper than the previous guys would have been.

I originally intended to interview two or three competitors and go with the best, but Jason did such a good job of analyzing the problem and clearly explaining what needed to be done that we decided to just go with him before our first meeting was over. The previous guy had been all airy-fairy with no clear explanation of anything (they'd done some good shingling for us a couple of years previously, so we trusted them more than we should have: we didn't know that shingling is a much easier job than fixing a flat roof.)

Canadian Roofing put the right number of men on the job, with proper resources to support the ongoing work. Because of continuing bad weather and a backlog in demand, they had trouble fitting us in quickly enough, but they did get to the job surprisingly quickly, and had contingency plans in place to cover us in case a particular situation required it (it didn't, because they got done ahead of schedule.)

We would happily hire them again, but are confident we'll never need to!

Our old roof was over 15 years old, and had multiple layers on both the flat and shingled portions. We had a roof leak and decided it was time for a new roof.

Darren was very professional and helpful throughout the entire process. He met with me on several occasions while I was choosing which company to hire, to answer all of my questions. He was very knowledgeable, clearly set out the scope of the work, and identified the various issues that might be found and the costs involved, so that there would be no surprises. The job was done quickly and a thorough clean up was done each day. I was also kept informed throughout the work.

I would not hesitate to recommend Canadian Roofing Company.

First off, these guys were great!!

I originally contracted with the owner Jason, to replace the shingles on the side of my Mansard roof. I'd had some damage from squirrels and needed to repair the egress. Jason and his crew showed up on time and began the work promptly. I left for work and was called a few hours later with some bad news, dry rot had caused massive holes in my over shingled roof over the years and then he sent me the photos. Basically I had a roof which consisted mainly of shingles. Options were given to me from the least expensive to the best possible way to fix the problem. My original quote doubled and a shingle job became a full on roof replacement.

The entire time, everybody showed up promptly and worked professionally. For seven days I had guys working on my roof and I now have a well built new roof and am a very satisfied customer, because I know that even though the original job exploded and doubled in price, I had competent professionals working on doing the best possible job.
The work was done about four years ago and I haven't had any issues what so ever. I have no hesitation in hiring them for any other work or recommending them to anyone. I'd also like to say that I believe I got a better roof then I paid for, so thanks guys, sorry this review took so long.

After having a bad experience with a roofing company we really did our research for this project. We had three quotes and felt that Jason gave us the most information, a couple of different options to choose from and the confidence in his company that we needed. The roof looks great and a couple of heavy rains later we are dry! The crew made sure everything was cleaned up nicely - no nails or debris left behind. We will refer them in the future.

Canadian Roofing was a referral from an interior renovation company Custom & Quality and the owner of Canadian Roofing Jason was beyond helpful with redoing my roof and most importantly it was done properly. Jason originally gave me a free quote and genuinely took the time to explain to me the cost break down of each section of his quote. I was extremely happy with his descriptive explanation. Overall I had the original chip board plywood removed, and replaced with new 1/2 inch spruce plywood, they also installed ice shield which was never there before, along with new shingles / roofing vents. Also I had some eavestroughing ripped out and replaced which they matched up the colour perfectly. The job was done in 2 days which was super impressive. The best part about why I chose to go with this company was the excellent communication from Jason via phone or text. It made me feel at ease and less to worry about that he wasn't hiding anything or being shady. Overall I give this company a 10/10 with great customer service, quality products and would recommend this for any roofing job. Cheers!

When we first discovered a leak in our roof of the house we recently bought, my wife and I were clearly troubled. However, after meeting Darren at our place, he helped us to feel comfortable and didn't push or rush us to commit to the job. We took our time, shopped around, and settled on going with Canadian Roofing because we trusted that Darren would do a great job. Happily, we were not disappointed. Darren kept us updated and informed throughout the entire process - and we are very happy and dry with our new roof!

There's no doubt these guys do a great job. I waited 3 or 4 months for them to get to my roof, but the crew sent was huge, there were four layers of shingles to strip, and the work site was kept immaculate. The roof looks great.
The one quibble I have was with a back mud room. The shingles on it were new, but Jason said because of the low pitch, it should be treated as a flat roof. I agreed, even though, as I said, the shingles were fine. I signed the quote. Then when the guys came to do the roof, apparently the quote was for shingles and treating it as a flat roof would be extra. This made no sense to me. In the end, it didn't matter because the wood was all rotten and needs to be torn down. I was still charged the full quote of $13,000 which was way higher than any other quote I got for just the main roof.
So, I'd give them 10/10 for quality, but 7/10 for pulling the "flat roof is extra" switcheroo. I felt like I'd been had.

When Jason came and gave me his estimate, he spend a lot of time making sure I knew exactly what they were going to do and how and why. That was much appreciated. Due to other reviews, I guess I pretty much expected the high quality that I got, but that they did it so well so quickly was a surprise. Justin and the guys were extremely efficient as the debris was being cleaned up as it was produced. There seemed to never really be a time when the grounds were truly messed up, and as I look at the roof now, it really looks great. I'm really happy with the work, the attitude, and the efficiency. Excellent company!
