I was renovating a rental property and needed a plumber to set a tub and replace a shower valve. EcoPro was the only plumber I could get within a week and I needed to get tiles up. They would not give a price over the phone or even a ballpark but offered to give a price before they started. The bathroom was stripped to the studs and 100% ready for the work, the tub and valves were sitting in the apartment.
The plumber arrived and quoted me almost $2000 for about 3 hours of work for him and his apprentice. I asked how much they charged per hour and they indicated they use a "standard pricing guide" and don;t charge by the hour. If you have a standard guide, why couldn't I get a price in advance??? And you have to pay for the service visit to give you a quote even if you don't use them. Having waited to a point where I was going to lose my tiling guy for a month and another month or two of rent, I gave in. The job was completed quickly and we have not had leaks.
I would only use Eco Pro in a desperate situation as I find their pricing policies parasitic.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $2,275.00
