Tony and his crew did a good job demolishing our old walkway and taking care to protect my lawn. He leveled and graded the laneway and backyard area carefully to ensure water would not leak into my house and aligned the bricks along the edge of my house to maintain the integrity of the house bricks.
However, problems with the discoloration of the new pavers began soon after the job was finished. The first thing I noticed were footprints (photo A) along the front walkway. A few days later I noticed brown, rusty marks. Discoloration progressively worsened and within a month the new pavers were a mess. See dated photos. I could understand some damage across years but certainly not within weeks of installation regardless of the color of the paver. The original walkway was cement and over 30 years old. There was no similar staining. (See photo) The stone selected was one of the choices that Tony offered his clients. Initially, he said the marking was from leaves, but it was early August.
When the situation worsened, Tony wondered if they were faulty stones and said I would have to deal with the supplier even though he was their client, not me.
Tony said he would come to look at it and address the issue after he finished a job out of town in about two weeks, but this didnt happen. He added he would try to power wash it first and go from there. This didnt happen. We spoke over the phone, and he assured me he would not abandon the job or walk away. He said he would get back to me to tell me when he was coming. This hasnt happened.
After further research of the paver companys products, he did not follow the companys printed installation guidelines.
We are very disappointed and left with quite a mess.
