I was contacted by Sam in response to needing some door work, and it was explained that they do all renos / repairs and maintenance. So I sent a list of the items I need (with pictures) to help ensure they were comfortable with the work and was very clear that I didnt just want work done, I wanted it finished to quality as I already had the work done poorly. His communication was very good and he is very pleasant. His employee was also a very nice man and Im sure a hard worker - This isnt personal.
The first day it took 4 hours to do the floor in 2 small broom closets (a few pieces each). Additionally, when the employee finally got a saw, It went everywhere, after the place was just cleaned.
Day 2 he installed a Laundry vent (cut hole to outside). It took 7 hours to install a Laundry vent and put up a range hood in a new cabinet. He didnt follow the instructions and when I pointed that out, he said his way would be better but his way didnt work and the hood is not only not properly secure, but it damaged the front of my brand new cabinets because he drilled too far to the front that the screw ruined the edges, and possibly the integrity of the cabinet. Also he had to leave it unfinished as it took so long, and I needed him to stop because I kept paying for things to be worse, that the hood isnt even installed properly. To pay for 11 hours (charged for 12) for all of this was pretty upsetting.
I believe they can do ok handyman work (change door handles or light fixture). But I would be careful about ensuring that they can actually do the work you hire them for. I dont Take to writing a poor review lightly so have attached pictures for you to decide if this was worth over 1000$ and to have to pay to finish the hood and repair the cabinet.
