JNK Waterproofing

I had to repair my basement leak and Josef quoted me $1300 in the beginning and later on says that the home construction is too old and he cannot fix it. Left the work half done, dug up 13 feet from the basement and did not even finish the job he later on claimed that he needs more money to finish off the rest of the job. When I refused to go further with his, he got aggressive and stopped all the work he was doing and left everything as is. he is unprofessional and his guys didnt even give any kind of service to finish up a job. Hes never an expert. All he claims is that he has done big jobs. Hes in a rush to finish his future jobs or previous jobs what he took, he basically Ruined my entire plans of fixing the leak. I had to hire a real contractor to get it done and the whole process was a waste of time I would highly recommend you to award this guy and his team and now he comes up with a new name, expert basement waterproofing I asked for you. I asked him for an invoice and he has never provided it and would never provided even after asking him multiple times. Very unprofessional. He would not answer my calls.

-I was offered a discount if I booked with them right away.
-I paid their required downpayment
-They were prompt with removing the old driveway and steps.
- Weather delayed listing new concrete but they stayed in contact.
- While waiting for the weather to clear, they asked for more down payment. I argued that wasn't our agreement. After being pressured, I said I would talk to my spouse. They backed down and said nevermind.
- After they laid the new driveway, I pointed out it isn't level. One part puddled at my foundation and one corner was an inch lower than the rest of the path. The inch was a pooling and tripping hazard.
- I asked for those to be fixed. They said they would come by in a couple days. They didn't. They rescheduled three times before showing up on a day I was out of town. I had communicated that day was a bad day to come but they came anyways.
- They poured a patch on top of the inch difference. And it still puddles at my foundation. I asked them to come back. At this point they had their full payment and still had to cut the driveway (this is a process to prevent cracking). The rescheduled multiple times.
- When they finally showed up, they cut the concrete but refused to acknowledge their unprofessional behaviour or their improper work.
- They also refused to sign any paper indicating that I had paid in full. I had to pressure them to sign something. They finally agreed to sign the estimate. I had to hand write "I had paid in full" at the bottom of the estimate because they wouldn't write me an invoice or receipt .

My experience with JNK waterproofing was horrible.
They came to quote the retaining wall job and came in at a reasonable price. They also agreed to regrade and pour a new concrete walkway by the garage.
The retaining wall - they didnt dig a trench, put any water barrier or weeping tile. They put in one row of cinderblock and told me it would cost more if I wanted another row. They filled the first row with concrete, spilled concrete all over my plants and left garbage in my back yard.
The walkway - they didnt dig up the old concrete and poured on top of the old. They splashed concrete all over my house and my neighbours car. They refused to finish the job until I paid in full. (I had already paid all but $500 of the job). I refused to pay in full until the job was complete and they cleaned up. They left and never came back. No relief cuts in the concrete. They removed and didnt rehang they gate to my backyard. They didnt clean up their mess.
Absolutely the WORST contractor I have ever hired.

Buyer beware! Jozef is using the oldest tricks in the book for more and more money without the job progressing. Very aggressive and pushy in the quoting process, then once agreed upon a price, scope of work and payment schedule come the tricks -- "need more money for material", "need to pay the guys up front", "made a mistake in the calculations, it will cost more", "my compactor broke, please you rent one for the job", "need more money for concrete, it will cost xyz up front" etc.

Not trustworthy in my books, thus I have asked them to leave the job site. Would not recommend JNK Waterproofing to anyone.
