A&A Renos

We signed a contract with A&A Reno, owned by Hamza to renovate our main floor bathroom on July 27, 2023. The work was to start on Aug 1st, to be completed in 5 business days.

Hamza came in on August 2, 2023 demolished the existing bathroom walls fixtures etc. in a few days and then disappeared for many days. He kept on giving dates and did not turn up to work. We took leave from work waiting for him to come over and complete the work. Most of the days he did not turn up and the days he turned up, he come late in the evening, worked for an hour or so and would take off. The delay to the work went on till September 20, 2023 ie. 50 days. Besides the delays, from whatever work he has done, the following are our experience.

1. The shower floor leaked to the floor below as water proofing was not done properly, he came back and stopped the leak with silicone instead of waterproofing it.
2. Shower floor does not slope properly towards the drain and water stands stagnant on the floor.
3. Instead of an elongated bowl he installed a small round toilet.
4. Promised to replace the defective handheld shower holder but did not.
5. Fixed the vanity to the wall with silicone instead of bracket or brace, left a big hole in the wall where the pipes come out. When asked to fix the wall, he got wallpaper and covered the holes
6. Construction Debris and Garbage was left on site, was not disposed as per the Contract.

He asked for money every few days to purchase materials, pay plumber, and electrician, which we paid as we wanted the work to be completed. On September 20th he came and told us that he is not able to fix/correct and complete the work and asked us to get someone else to complete the work, and he would pay the new contractor. As we were not sure that Hamza would pay the new contractor, we negotiated and agreed for a refund. The dates he promised have long gone and we have not received any refund.

Upon searching on HomeStars for A&A Reno, we realized that we are not the only ones who had a bad experience with A&A Reno. It was really a mistake on our part for not to have done a background search of A&A Reno before signing the contract.

Today on November 4, 2023 the shower started leaking again. we are spending our weekend removing the caulking and re-caulking

Hamza was great to deal with at the beginning. His first attempt at reglazing the bathtub was horrible. He had said he was coming back a few hours later but never did. During his first visit he painted the baseboards. It was my elderly Mother's home so it hadn't been dusted in forever; yet he still painted over the dust. I messaged him through text, voicemails and emails asking him about his tub job for approximately a week and a half without hearing anything from him. His second attempt was not much better. All of this started in early April. I attempted to contact him two weeks ago to see when he might be coming back to finally finish the job and as of the date of this review, I have never heard back from him.

I hired A&A, Hamza, for a bathroom renovation. He took a deposit, showed up and did almost no work, kept giving be dates he never met, then refused to return any money. I am chasing him, but he isn't honest in any way. Avoid him completely!

As it was very difficult to find the same tile to replace the cracked tiles, the contractor recommended replacing the entire kitchen floor and provided a quote for his work.

We were reluctant because our porcelain tiles were installed wall to wall under our kitchen cabinets and we did not want to renovate the kitchen, just repair the floor.

We purchased 12"x24" vinyl tiles, underlay and new baseboards. The contractor removed porcelain tiles, cleared the debris, levelled the floor, put down underlay and porcelain tiles, caulked the edges and installed new baseboards.

This group was extremely refreshing and great to deal with! They were, well spoken, and probably one of the hardest working groups Ive dealt with. I really enjoyed sharing the passion for my bathrooms final look with these guys, they are full of ideas and extremely skilled. Organized, sharp, and on time.

I had contacted this company after being referred by a friend and all I can say is I was not disappointed. They understood what I wanted and even helped with great suggestions, they were responsive and were consistent with their work and made sure not to cut any corners to get the job done. At the end I was highly impressed by their work and I would recommend them to anyone.

I invited A&A Renos to come by and quote me on my kitchen renovations. The owner of the company, Hamza, was extremely attentive to my vision, and provided suggestions that I wasn't aware was possible. The quote was on-point, and he didn't sway on the price after the fact - as I've had others do to me in the past and more importantly the project was completed in the 1 month timeframe as promised! Materials were of great quality as well. It was a delight to have him and his team working, always in great spirits, respectful of my property, hardworking, great conversations, and even better he gave me updates on the work occasionally without me asking - which I appreciated a lot. The team is skilled, experienced and you can tell they love the work that they do through their workmanship - which gave me more confidence as the days went on with the renovations. Walking into the kitchen now feels like a treat everyday and nothing I can complain about on the work done. Simply outstanding, and more than what I expected in my initial vision. They spent hours one day just making sure the smallest of detail work was done correctly and perfect. The whole process from planning, renovating, and finishing was a smooth and enjoyable process and couldn't have asked for more, keep up the great work A&A Renos!

Excellent and flexible service. Did everything I wanted the way I wanted it. Came on time and made it fit my schedule with no hassle. It was excellent service for the price I paid definitely recommend
