Needed to change locks on accordion door at retail establishment. He counted 7 locks ( I was not at the site), quoted $1500 for the job, which I knew to be exorbitant. I accepted out of desperation. Halfway through the job, when I arrived onsite, he informed me that there were 11 locks, not 7, and the price was now $2200. I told him no, we had a deal, and the price was out of line. He was extremely agitated and threatening. I told him I no longer wanted him on the Job. He agreed, but warned me that the door would be damaged ". I asked him to leave. I left. An intermediary ( my onsite employee), subsequently settled, for $1,800. I was seething. I contacted two other locksmiths that I had previously used, and they both quoted $850-900.
