After getting a multiple quote from different contarctors, I chose Assured Basement for my unfinished basement and that was the best decision for me. The quote was little highere than what we were expecting but we got the premium servise for that. Work was top notch quality and everyone was really professional in their work. Ryan and Mike both knows what they are doing and have a very clear vision. The best part of our experience was that everything was completed in timely manner given COVID situation and we never had to check on what they were doing untill the work was done. I am definitely working with them in future.

These folks know basements, and this showed from the moment we met Mike from Assured who left us more than impressed with a basement design we never would have considered and paved the way to the finished basement of our dreams.

From working with Ryan and Hollis at the design center helping with the finer details of our basement, to the care that Enrique, Daniel, Mila, Jorge and the other tradespeople had with finishing our basement, we felt we were in good hands every step of the way. Katarina helped immensely with renderings to help us visualize our wet bar design ideas, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

With that said, there were times where my wife and I felt that we could have used more frequent status updates on the schedule. We sometimes found that to fill these knowledge gaps, we had to initiate discussion to understand next steps. While this did resolve issues pertaining to timing of events, we hoped this information was more forthcoming.

Overall we are pleased with how our basement turned out and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come!

We interviewed at least 6-7 basement renovation companies before picking Assured Basements and are glad we did! Mike was easy to reach and spent two hours assessing our needs and giving us a quote by the end of the session which impressed us as we are both working professionals with young kids with limited time. The whole process was seamless and transparent:
1) a builder trend app is used to track progress, lists all the invoiced items and shows the schedule so you know exactly what youre paying for, and when things will be done, whose coming to your house.
2) there is a group WhatsApp which has the whole team addressing your needs and getting back to any inquiries right away.
3) the design centre has many choices and really nice standards - no other basement company does a piano oak staircase and a beautiful glass tiled shower as their standard.
4) price: they are reasonable and show you exactly what youre paying for with an itemized invoice on builder trend. So you can stay within budget
5) design: we love our floor plan that was proposed. In our townhome, we were able to fit a mini bar, a family room, a full bathroom, a small kids playroom and an area for a gym. They built storage doors under the staircase, around the furnace and a closet, giving us ample storage room.
6) team: a huge thank you to Mike, Ryan, Andrej, Nathan, Hollis, Katarina, and everyone else (painters, staircase expert, the baseboard installers, the framers) . By the end of this, they were like family and truly put care in our basement .
7) timeline: for the most part everything was on schedule, however by the end, the finishing took a couple of weeks longer than expected. This was immediately addressed in the WhatsApp group so we didnt feel ignored. And the quality of the job made up for the delay.

Assure Basements was 1 of 3 companies we had quote for our basement. All 3 quotes were in the same ball park but they took the time to explain everything and their design/planning in the first and second meetings were quite superior than the competition, it was an obvious choice. Once the design was complete a WhatApp chat was created where we were in constant contact with the construction management and design team. Any issues that was brought up was addressed quickly and professionally. Everyone on the team from Ryan (GM), Andrej (PM), Hollis (design), Leo (tiles), Dennis (shower glass), Peter and Jake (stairs and finisher) to framers were a pleasure to work with and handled all our questions /concerns without complaint. I would definitely recommend Assure Basements and would without a doubt use them again in the future if required.

Assured Basements, true to their name give you that sense of assurance in their work from the beginning till the end of the project. They stand by their word and see that the entire job gets completed to our complete satisfaction. Our basement project was completed in 5-6 weeks as they promised.

I had been desperately and patiently looking for a basement contractor for several months and when we came across Assured Basements we knew we have found the right one. We signed the contract without hesitation on our first meeting with Muneeb who made us feel comfortable and confident about every aspect of the project and dealt with it very professionally. Our next meeting was with Ryan, Andrej and Hollis who with their expertise mapped out the entire layout planning everything accurately based on our requirements.

Our experience at the design center with Ryan was great. Even though I kept changing my mind about my choices, he was patient, friendly and very helpful so the entire process of selection was smooth. Not only that, he worked with every detail at every stage of the project to see that we are 100% happy and fully satisfied with their work. Through out the entire project Ryan, Andrej, Hollis, Nathan and the rest of the team dealt with everything in a very professional manner. Each and every one of their crew did a neat job and even cleaned up before they left everyday.
What impressed us most was the transparency of their dealing, their honesty, sincerity and dedication to work.

Their app called the 'Buildertrend' is amazing. You have to instal it on your phone. It shows you not only your invoices, design selections etc, but the entire schedule for your project so you know what work is being done and when - whether it is framing, electrical, plumbing etc. This app plus the whats app group made it easy for us to communicate with the entire team so that we we were up to date with the entire project.

Another important point to mention is that Assured basements meet with all the fire safety and electrical codes (they give you the ESA certificate once the electrical work is completed) as well as mould protection guarantee thus ensuring health and safety in your basement space.

Dedicated, hard working, meticulous, efficient, responsible, reliable and above all very professional are just a few words to describe the Assured team because they deserve much more than that.

I cannot forget to mention Peter who did an excellent job building our staircase, staining the steps so perfectly that gave them a natural look. What a smooth and beautiful finish! Also hats off to Nathan who not just managed the entire project professionally but also completed all the finishing touches happily with a smile on his face, without showing any displeasure to the minutest flaws I pointed out (picky as I am) such as a nick in the wall etc.

Extremely happy with the experience

I appreciate that the team led with advice as this was my first major home renovation. From start to finish, communication was excellent and I was provided with options that met my needs and goals.

Very thankful that they fully respected my budget and there were no shocking overruns and we were able to pivot easily when inventory issues arose. The transparency of each cost was greatly appreciated and really set them above everyone else during the planning stage

Ryan, Mike, Katarina, Andrej, Nathan and the whole team were a pleasure to work with and I can't wait to plan my next project with them!

We decided to finish our basement as we needed more space in the home. Did a lot of research and had a lot of quotes but Assured made us feel comfortable from the beginning. We knew that if we were going to go through with this investment, we would need to do it right. This meant a reputable company that would do everything right and professionally.

From the initial meeting (Mike) to the 2nd meeting with Andrej and Ryan to map out the layout, Assured was professional. They use a app called buildertrend which organizes the schedule and is basically used for every aspect of the project. Met Ahmed (project manager) who was on-site often for the first 2 weeks and ensured the initial framing, electrical, HVAC were done right and on time. There were some small delays towards the end of the project but they were still able to complete it in 5-6 weeks. Every member of the team was professional, and cleaned up after themselves almost every day.

Once the project was completed, Assured made sure we were happy. There were some small post-construction fixes that were required and they came back, no issues, to fix them. They also come with a workmanship guarantee, ESA qualification (was very important to us), and mould protection guarantee.

TIP: like any large project, make sure the layout and materials are exactly what you want from the beginning and prior to signing the final contract, as any changes do cost money.
