M&J Electric Inc

I'm sorry to have to post this. We worked with Matt and M&J in the past, the initial work was good and I gave them $2600 in advance for a part that needed to be paid for in advance according to Matt (to facilitate a generator hook-up). That was in July of 2022, 19 months ago!

Since then I have an email & text trail of missed deadlines that has turned into non-response for the last 6 months. That's real money for us, all I want is an honest timeline or the money back.

Matt and team was very professional and did a clean job. I am very satisfied with the job they did. Matt explained the process and set the expectation right from the beginning.

We hired M&J Electric on a referral from another custom home that was being built on our street. Right from the first phone call we could tell that Matt was the real deal. We sent Matt all the necessary floor plans and within 24hrs Matt had emailed us back with a custom electrical design showing all of our electrical layout including pot light layout which we found very helpful for the visual. At that point Matt set up a zoom call to go over the design he had created and went over every aspect of the drawing and made sure he was not missing anything and also gave some great suggestions that were very modern and "techy" which we loved that we would never have thought of or knew existed. Matt then made the necessary changes and re submitted an updated drawing complete with an estimate with a complete break down. At that point we wanted to sign a contract with Matt ASAP as he blew all the other electricians out of the water that we were also talking to. Once they started work on our new home they kept impressing us from their amazing attitudes to the care and quality of workmanship they provide. I'm willing to stand by my word and say all the guys at M&J Electric are top electricians and we forever will consider them for any project and they will always be the first referral we give to anyone. Thanks again M&J Electric for the amazing and clean work you do. Keep up the good work!

The team at MJ Electric came in and the first attention to detail was they removed their work boots. They provided a detailed quote on what work was going to be done and the process on how it was all going to be done. The day of the work Mathew and James completed the work with as little visible debris and holes in the walls(none at all). They patched all visible holes. Once again the attention to detail in the workmanship made me and my family satisfied. I highly recommend MJ Electric for all your Electrical needs.

It was such a wonderful experience working with M&J Electric Inc, particularly with Matt and James.

I found their ad from Kijiji and I invited them over to get a look at the site where my swim spa will be located. At that time, I already knew that I will be needing a 200A service upgrade in addition to the electrical hookup of our soon-to-be-delivered 15ft swim spa.

This was when I finally met Matt. I was so impressed with him as he really know what things needed to be done and all my questions were answered even before I asked him. Of all the quotes that came back to me, his quote fell somewhere in the middle. I could have easily gave the contract to the cheapest quote but I just could not pass on Matt's ability not only to deliver, but also his willingness to work with me (and my other contractors) through out the entire process of the swim spa project. He even added for free the installation of an outdoor switch (and extra receptacle) and of an all-house surge protector, which made the deal even sweeter.

Then the contract work started and this was when I met James. Like Matt, it was a pleasure to work with James because he is a very capable guy and very easy to get along with. Since the 200A service upgrade requires scheduling with my local hydro company, they instead started hooking up the electrical wires from my basement, then off outside the house (side), then into the back where 2 electrical disconnects (one 50A for swim spa, and one 15A for the cover) were also installed. Since both the swim spa and cover were still about 20 feet away from the disconnects and my deck work has yet to start, Matt and James did a second visit to my place to continue the work after the deck frames had been installed. When the swim spa finally got delivered and the cover was installed, Matt and James came back for a third visit to hookup both the swim spa and the cover. I was amazed how easily they hooked up these complex items and all of my installation concerns/issues simply faded away.

When the scheduled 200A service upgrade came, Matt and James came back again for the fourth time to finally do the upgrade. I was a bit worried because we will be without power from 8am to 3pm while doing the upgrade. it was summer and school was just over so kids were home. Without power means no AC and no internet, so I was prepared to hear a lot of complaints from my kids. Fortunately, Matt and James finished the upgrade around noon without any issues. Power was back 3 hours earlier and everyone in my household did not even recognize the power outage.

Matt and James came in for the fifth and final visit. This time, they installed the freebies they included in the contract. At this time, I was so satisfied of the work that they had done. I feel safer inside my home now because of the things M&J Electric Inc had done. I could have given them more electrical work if I had more during those times.

The impression they left is unequalled and I will be contacting M&J Electric Inc again to do any future electrical work in my home.

We hired M&J Electric to add pot lights to our kids' bedrooms and we are so happy with how they turned out!

Our son wanted 'purple' pot lights, so they came up with a solution to add colour changing pot lights to his room, which are awesome! They put a dimmer switch on the pot lights in our daughter's bedroom so I could have some light for the middle-of-the-night feedings without it being too bright.

I was 8 months pregnant at the time and worried about adding these two projects but after meeting Matt and James, we could tell we were in good hands. They were so friendly, professional, efficient and left both rooms spotless, even after crawling through our attic.
