A1 Snow Removal

!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH A1 SNOW REMOVAL!!!

If there's a negative star review, I'd have given it.

I decided to go with A1 Snow when I saw 5 star review (based on like 4 reviews if I remembered correctly back in 2020 in another website, not google review). However, what they promised, they NEVER DELIVER!

I paid for snow clearing for both driveway and walkway as well as salting service. They promised to come to clear the snow before I leave for work in the morning (8:30am written in the contract), perhaps only once they did it and that's because they came in the very early hours like 2am. The rest, they never bothered to come.

In the contract, it says that they'll come again when city snowplow is done. However, not even once they did.

Called them, but they never picked up. Text them, perhaps 1 every 5 text, it replied. Paid of salt service, but not once they did any salting to either both my driveway or walkway.

Today (Feb 16, 2021), I called and he said he'll come within an hour. However, after more than 2 hours (as of writing this review) he still hasn't shown up. Called him but went straight to voice message. Texted him but no reply.

One last thing. When I was able to get hold of him on a call, he's excuses would always be mechanical issue.

Very Unprofessional, Never deliver and Unresponsive.

Avoid A1 Snow and do business with another company. This is the worst experience I had.

Feb 17, 2021 Update: 13 hours after our ended call (8:09pm), not only didn't Isaiah came, not even his employee and/or his subcontractor came. In other words, yesterday, no one came to clean my driveway and walkway. This kind of service is UNACCEPTABLE!

Absolutely the worst snow removal company. We have hired them for our rental properties (commercial service paid over $5,500 for it) Always very late and always give you the excuse that the machine broke down. Because the service is so late, we ended up doing lot of snow removal ourself. The snow removal job is never done properly, they'd do one or two line of plows with their truck and said they did it. We'll be suing this company when court opens. AVOID this company at all cost. Pictures of their half fast snow removal job is attached, as you can see in the last photo provided, my son and I plowing snow at 8:30pm today to clear the snow off our tenant's parking spot, because of A1's poor useless service.

I signed up with Isaiah for 2020/21 season in Barrhaven and very dissapointed on its services. Every dissapointment comments/review on this site are valid so I don't need to repeat it. I have given this company many chances and they have only came by and clear my driveway once so far (by hand) on Nov 25th 2020. I have to call and get empty promises so I end up clearing snow myself. I want my money back but how

I found A1 for our landlord. They called with a quote. I asked that it included the driveway and second laneway and lot for a business. They confirmed and said they had seen the property. 1st snowfall (Nov 22-23) they showed and did a great job on our driveway but did not do the second laneway or backlot. Equipment trouble was what we were told and were understanding. 2nd snowfall (Jan 2, they showed, did an incomplete job on the front driveway, left snow piles (well actually pushed snow) in front of our step and did part (very small part) of the second laneway. Did not do the full laneway or the backlot again. They do not answer the phone, the machine is always full or not initialized. After reaching them they returned on Jan 3rd with a plow to do the side laneway and back. This is captured on camera where they had crap tires and tore up the back. The guy who came obviously had no idea what was needed and had not been to the property. Then our last big snowfall. (Jan 15th) No show. No one would answer and I actually was hung up on once after someone picked up the line. We then received a call from our landlord, they wanted more money and did not come. The next day they tried to tell our landlord they had been here, not true. My son did the laneway enough to get our car out. I am appalled. We are done with A1.

We hired A1 snow removal for the 2020/21 winter and they didn't show up on the first snowstorm back in Nov2020. They said it was one time technical issue. Few months past, second snowstorm hit Ottawa again, they sent two men with shovel to clean the driveway instead of machine... They didn't follow up the snowbank after city shovel the road. I need to shovel it myself in order to get my car in. All other neighbor's plowing company clean the snowbank right after city. Never experience something like this before. If you like to shovel by yourself, buy their service, otherwise strongly recommended you stay away from this company!!!!

Also, despite calling them numerous times, they wouldn’t answer our calls. When we called from a number which was not on the file they picked up on first ring. This is how they run their business.

Initial issues involving mechanical problems with their plow equipment and their response time have been fully resolved by Isaiah and his company has been amazing since.

I will definitely be recommending his company.

My townehouse complex has hired this company for snow clearing in 2020 and so far we are not happy. The snow has not been cleared adequately with either of the first 2 snowfalls. The first time I called to address the issue the person who answered was rather defensive instead of helpful. I spoke to the operator in person when he was here regarding where to put the snow, but then his truck broke down and he left without finishing. From the way he was trying to clear and pile the snow he seemed inexperienced, leaving huge ridges in our driveway, and missed half the snow. No one has been back since and since then the voicemail has been full. We are not feeling hopeful about the snow clearing this year.

Nothing but awesome things to say about this company. Excellent service, the owners were honest and reliable, and I’ve had a few uncopacetic experiences with snow removal companies over the years.

Absolutely using A1 again this upcoming snow season.
