Never Done the job after asking for references

So Rep Paul came to provide quote, very friendly and seems good person,
I asked for written quote but they were only giving written quote if I pay deposit, Thats 1st time raising question.
Then I asked for week time and collect deposit but before that provide me some references where they done the job- never received any.
Few text messages and no reply, then I called and they mentioned that they cant do the work cause they were not able to finish the job. So left me in last moment until I called and inquire. Too bad.
