RG contracting was by far the worst contractor I have ever dealt with.
When I hired RG to do concrete work on my property in June of 2021, he assured me that the scale of the job was no big deal and that it was no problem to finish it as I had requested (Seamless Stamped Finish). The scope of the job was a Large 32' x 25' pad in the backyard, pathways on either side of the house, and a small pad in the front yard.
Thankfully Riley only poured the pathways and the small pad before I fired him. There wasn't a single 1' x 1' section of the concrete that I deemed acceptable. What an absolute disaster. There were wooden and metal stakes in the middle of the "finished" product, and also chains and even an extension cord! All the water sloped directly towards the house. There was no foam installed between the concrete pad and the house foundation. A form broke while pouring. He didn't excavate the one side of the house, poured directly overtop of the soil/ stone base and its was just an unfinished edge that was about 4 inches above the Asphalt driveway instead of having the elevation match? I could go on and on.
RG will be quick to say "That was the fastest setting concrete I have ever worked with". My cousin owns the concrete supply company and the driver ensured me he made it as wet as he could because "these guys have no idea what they're doing". RG will also say " I didn't have quality guys helping" So why make the executive decision to pour the concrete if you know you're setting yourself up for failure?
RG was adamant on fixing the concrete... there was no way I could give this business a second chance. He wanted to do a skim coat of concrete overtop of the botched job.
All I wanted was for RG to remove the botched concrete job and refund me for the cost of the concrete and then go our separate ways... RG said he would remove it, but "its going to have to wait". He also adamantly refused reimbursing me for the cost of the concrete.
I ended up removing the concrete with a friend, which took 2 12-hour days, 4 bins and a bunch of equipment rentals totaling just under 2k.
I advise anybody and everybody to turn away from this company as fast as you can. I remember him telling me about two other jobs he had where people refused to pay him... Looking back, I'm sure its for reasons like mine.
