We had an absolutely horrible experience with JohnL flooring. We would like to strongly warn you about using him.

We had 5-6 quotes on Homestars, and JohnL's being the lowest by a small amount. He was friendly and quickly came to our home, and measured all of the rooms we wanted him to work in. After providing us with a quote we hired him with more than a month's advance notice before work had to begin in our home. He also visited my property one more time and looked at the work that needed to be done when I gave him a deposit.

On the day he was supposed to start working, he suddenly double the price of the job, saying that the square footage increased after drywall was installed (which is a load of you know what). This happened despite the fact that he had visited our home twice before, and measured twice! I believe he was being malicious, intentionally raising the price knowing that my project depended on him completing his work before it could continue.

Despite having an agreement, and paying the deposit, he refused to budge from his sudden doubling of the cost of the project. So I requested my money back (which he did send to me).

Regardless, I am now out of a contractor and my home renovation project is on hold until who knows when. Likely John has cost me weeks of delays despite the fact that I had clarified everything with him more than a month in advance. This person does not belong in business. Please do not make the same mistake that I did - do not hire!! It'll cost you!
