Windows & Doors Ontario

Windows and Doors Ontario install 21 windows and the front entrance door in our house in July 2023. We selected Windows and Doors Ontario after receiving quotes from four other companies. Alex, from Windows and Doors Ontario, was a pleasure to deal with, provided straight-forward information, including suggestions on the style and type of windows and they had very competitive prices. Our existing window structures were solid so we went with more cost-effective frame-in-frame replacements for all but 3 windows. We also replaced the front entrance door. Windows and Doors Ontario arrived on time and completed the entire job on schedule. The crew were courteous, well organized, and cleaned up all debris after completing the work. Alex was on site during the installation to ensure that the work was completely properly.
We are more than pleased with the aesthetics of the new windows: they provide a more modern look from both the interior and the exterior. Replacing slider windows with awning windows allowed more light into the house and the replacement of multiple small fixed windows with larger single windows also increased the light in the house. The solid double doors that replaced the front door is a dramatic improvement in the front of the house.
We waited for 10 months to review the work done so that we could evaluate the functional impact of the changes after summer and winter. After the windows were replaced the air conditioner ran less often but the house was more comfortable and the temperature more even throughout the house. The impact was more noticeable in winter, with the house being more evenly warm despite the furnace running less often. The energy audit performed before and after installation of windows and doors confirmed that the new windows and doors increased the energy efficiency of the house. Energy efficiency went from well below efficiency of a standard newly built house to energy efficiency above the level of a newly constructed house. In addition, the new windows and doors reduced noise from outside.
There was one minor issue with small hairline cracks on the interior caulking of some windows. Exterior caulking and insulation were not affected. Though the cracks on interior caulking are purely cosmetic, they still needed to be addressed. After contacting Alex, arrangements were made to repair the caulking and that issue has been resolved. Overall, we are more than happy with the service, value, and the overall performance of the windows and the doors that were installed. Alex and the installation team were a pleasure to deal with and did what they promised to do. We have no reservations recommending them.
