My 17-year-old cedar deck badly needed repairs. Rather than a traditional railing, my deck had planters and benches surrounding the deck which needed to be replaced. None of the contractors I contacted wanted to repair the deck; thay all wanted to tear it down and build a new one for $30,000 plus. Kerry from Mjolinir Construction in Ottawa came and assessed the deck and determined the planters and benches could be replaced for about 1/5 of the price and the work could be done in 2 days. I was in no hurry so he scheduled my project for the fall. Then things changed and we were planning to host a major social event which would include about 40 people. I contacted Kerry and he agreed to shoe-horn in my project into his already busy summer schedule. A week before our event, Ian arrived at the house and started tearing down the damaged section of the deck and started hauling it away. Then he turned his attention to making the necessary repairs. The finished product was outstanding and reflected a very high quality and professional workmanship. I couldn't be happier with the result. Ian was a true craftsman, courteous and attentive to detail. He did a superior job and delievered on time and on budget.
