We wanted to refinish the outside of our home and signed up for Lowe's contractor services. Nik from Renovco called me and set up an appointment. We picked the colors, he gave me the quote and then I was contacted to pay the full amount, so that the materials could be ordered. I learned after that it was supposed to be 50% now and 50% when the work started but the person from Lowe's wasn't aware. I was kind of hesitant at first but since we were dealing with a contractor through Lowe's, I felt a little more comfortable and paid the full invoice. Nick also advised me that I would be eligible for a gift card at Lowe's for 10% of the value of our contract. Considering the job cost almost $20,000 I was happy when Lowe's called me to tell me that I had a gift card waiting for me at customer service which could be picked up anytime.
Fast forward 6 weeks later, Nik called me on a Thursday to say that the materials arrived and they would begin work on Tuesday. I received another call on Monday morning advising me that they have the material in hand and could start right away if I wanted. The installers arrived, showed me where they would like to set up and were very friendly and talkative. They removed our old siding as they went along and stacked it all neatly out of the way. They kept their work area and the front of my home tidy for the 3 days that it took to complete the job. On the last day, one of the guys said they were short material, so the other installer would go get it. They finished the job at around dusk on the third day but I was busy with the kids and supper, so I didn't have the opportunity to look at the completed job. The next morning I took a look and I had a couple of concerns where one, they used two pieces in a row on my chimney stack. They at least they did it where it wasn't very visible but I figured it was because they were short materials. Secondly, on the peak over my garage, the pieces didn't line up. I sent Nik a couple of pictures and told him my concerns. Nik texted me back saying he was coming out to look at it the same morning. Nik showed up about an hour later and when I showed him what I was talking about, he seemed more concerned about it then me and said he was going to call the guys and get them back out to my place and fix the issues. He texted me in the afternoon to say that they ordered more material and the installers would be back to fix the issues when it came in. On Monday, Nik texted me again to say that the installers would come either today or tomorrow. Tuesday morning the same installers arrived in their usual cheery mood and fixed what was discussed. Nik also came out when they were finished to show me the work and to ensure that I was completely satisfied, which I was.
I highly recommend Nik to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy and honest contractor.
