Do not get fooled by all the high rating reviewsI have selected ClearView Kitchens partly based on high rating reviews and that was a big mistake.
Dishonest: After the initial meetings, we got a quotation for painted MDF cabinetry. When we asked about mixing the cabinet materials option, Andrey (owner) said mixing cabinet materials would not change the price, whether combination of painted MDF plus Melamine or combination of painted MDF plus Wood veneer. There would be up charge only if the upgrade was combination of painted MDF plus solid wood. After the deposit was made, we changed our mind from combination of painted MDF plus Melamine to combination of painted MDF plus Wood veneer and they wanted a addition fee that was equivalent to upgrading to the solid wood.
Responsiveness: Their communication was pretty responsive until we made the deposit, afterward the communication was slow significantly causing our project delays.
Finally, we didnt hear from them for a over a week, and therefore we sent an email wanting to withdraw from this project due to dishonesty and delaying the project. We have asked for refund of partial deposit, to pay for some of the work done, but they refused with an arbitrary list of charges that added to the deposit amount.
By the way, their website states FREE design solutions in 3D modeling and rendering, well when we asked for the refund, they put a dollar amount to this as a chargeable item.
Also they state Reasonable pricing and transparency with quoting, their price made be reasonable but definitely NOT TRANSPARENT with quoting.
This is a terrible business practise, and this complaint will be filed with Consumer Protection Ontario, Competition Bureau Canada, and Better Business Bureau.
Even other kitchen renovation companies are admitting this is a bad business practise, and they do not treat their customers this way, even if they back out.
